How I Got Scam Free and How Anyone Can, Including You
I’ve been scammed several times, but it took years to get to the point where I’m now pretty-much scam proof. I only get into scams if I want to, now. And I can get out of them any time I want to.
My story goes back to being part of a corporate culture which was suppressing the daylights out of me, or at least I thought so. For all the progress I thought I was making, there would always be a set back, usually a personnel transfer, and I was starting over again. It didn’t matter what my goals were, it was all about the company. People were operating out of fear, not the policies in writing that were supposed to be followed.
And this was a corporation which sold counseling and self-improvement books, classes, and coaching.
After 20+ years, I left to sort out my own head.
I did some research, wrote some books, and started to learn how to promote them.
Then I fell into “Internet Marketing”, and into a scam of paying a lot of money for something that didn’t work. After a year of researching this, I then was able to get my money back.
But this put me into touch with many other people in similar situations. I only told them what I knew and they were able to get their money back.
There was never anything in it for me. And how this is done is pretty easily found on the Internet – but it was just a handful of companies who were doing this. And their relatively small number of people who were “scammed”.
I got more curious as I researched, however, since I found more and more basic premises that these and any scammers used to do their “dirty work”.
The bottom line on this was attitude. The scam victims “knew” they were victims, but the scammers “knew” they weren’t scamming. In both cases they were right – and wrong at the same time.
I found that when scam victims changed their minds, they suddenly figured out how to use what they knew to get their money back. (I was never able to change the scammers’ minds and get them to quit.)
The reason scamming is a mental condition is because scamming is a scale with a high and low end. Plus and minus. Negative and positive.
Like other scales that operate in life, there are ways to deal with this. But the key point is finding the middle path. Equanimity is what you are looking for. Fair dealing and so on.
You are always going to have people who are victims and people who are going to help them give up their money. Governments are good at this, as well as “charity” organizations like HSUS – both take in a lot of money and give little in return, despite their promises. Most of Internet Marketing scams are this way. A few online marketers are ethical and give great value. A rare few.
You have to get to a point of equanimity about the whole subject – to be able to watch the game go on without getting upset, happy, elated, despondent, worried… Without any of those things.
Once you do, it’s simple to get your money back, to get justice, or to do nothing and just learn from your lessons that life just handed you.
While I earlier published a scam-free checklist to help identify scammers in your life, I thought to now tell you the self-help method to get yourself free from these.
It’s a combination of various techniques, each of which will work in and of themselves. Together, they take you to a nice Zen level of existence – at least in this area.
The techniques are Silva Method, Levenson Release Technique, and your own faith in yourself.
While I’ve linked some materials above, you’ll also be able to find the key data as free MP3’s online by looking around.
The simple technique:
- Go to “Level” using the Silva Method. This is simply a meditative state of concentration.
- Release the thoughts and emotional feelings you have about whatever scam you found yourself involved in.
- Find and release the desires you have below that – you’ll find that control, approval, and/or security played a part in getting scammed. Or some combination. Trying to get more ____ , or trying to get away from ____ or trying to change ____ are some ways to look at these desires to release them.
- Keep doing this until you can’t find anything else to release.
- Now adopt a positive affirmation about how you want to live your life from now on.
- Realize this has now occurred and end off your meditation.
You can repeat this whenever you start getting any negative feelings toward the scammers or the ideas coming into your awareness about how you were scammed. You want to get to the point of complete equanimity about this area. You want to get to the point where you “don’t give a hoot” any more. Sometimes, like peeling an onion, you have to take off multiple layers as it’s tied into you in various ways.
Of course, this technique is great for other things as well. And use it however you want.
But you’ll get to the point of real Freedom in your life, and lots of calming peace of mind to go with it. All on top of never being scammed again – unless you want to be.
Cheers!
