Scientology is a storm that tries men (and women)’s souls.

Mastering Your Hidden Self: Guide to the Huna Way (A Quest Book)As you probably know by now, I judge my own truths through the oldest philosophy I’ve been able to find – Huna.

And anyone who’s followed Huna will tell you that there is no one school, no one teacher. But they do agree on basic principles and traditions. Just not how they are interpreted. All the Kahuna’s I’ve found (the ones who publish to the Western world) leave that  up to the individual.

My other comparative is Levenson. His followers are similar in that regard. Levenson found a series of truths which eventually restored his own personal Freedom and a real “peace that passed all understanding.”

And it’s that singular peace – which I’ve had my own moments of satori – that lead me to leave Scientology.

I left – even though I had worked internally to correct and improve the organization for decades – because the organization became flawed from top to bottom. It no longer upheld the basic tenets of Hubbard’s teachings to be sacrosanct.

Now I left nearly a decade ago, and have worked to stay on amicable terms with the individuals in it. I have no need to take any further services, but have no quarrel with anyone still within the organization itself.  I still value every single day I invested in that subject, and I spend a long 20-plus years at it. Dedicated.

My Billion Year Contract: Memoir of a Former ScientologistSo I’m no witness to what Rathbun, Rinder, and others are saying about the current “management crimes”.

I also wish no one ill who chooses to follow Scientology within or outside that organization.

For anyone resolutely within it, Scientology does work. For those of us outside it – not so much. For it’s a very narrow set of parameters which have to be kept in order to keep working.

After I departed L. A. and my long career helping others, I set out to see what it was I needed to know in order to verify Scientology itself. I left with a rental truck full of heavy books and tape transcripts and a couple of their emeters. One of the first things I did was to get an Internet access that would give me all the data I needed. I also had to get a job and work in the real world. For all those years on Scientology staff, I had no pension, no benefits, no savings.

That combination of real-world work and Internet access became a crucible where all Hubbard wrote was tested.

Unfortunately, it failed that test.

A Piece of Blue Sky: Scientology, Dianetics and L. Ron Hubbard ExposedI found that a) Hubbard was very human. b) the corporate structure was flawed in its basic set up. c) that there exists in humankind a very wide propensity to be scammed, duped, and deluded.

But as well, d) it is possible for anyone and everyone to seek and achieve their own enlightenment.

So I don’t hold that being an “Independent Scientologist” will work. Simply because it is very difficult to maintain those tight parameters so that the practice can be done. It was the corporate structure which maintained those thin, high walls which could not be crossed. And that corporation still tries to do so, today.

Those who leave Scientology-the-corporation are those who went out on the Internet and found out for themselves what the real world consists of. Or at least a very different version than the one they had been told all this time. But in comparing notes with each other, these public Scientologists are finding that they all had the same deep-rooted suspicions. (Leaving staff – a much more tightly-controlled scene – has always been where a person runs into a series of situations which radically departed from basic deeply-held personal beliefs. Both can’t be true. And they give up the one which has the weakest proof.)

Management, for years, has told staff and public a very polished version of their “truth”. And, with these high-level defections recently, the man behind the curtain has been exposed as the humbug he has always been. That man is both Miscavidge and Hubbard.

Knock Knock The Savvy Convert's Guide To Choosing A ReligionI will not rain on anyone else’s parade, however. People are free to think as they will. Believe as they will. And people have ego’s which get in their way from time to time. So you won’t find me dissing someone’s personal beliefs. That being said, I don’t expect that I won’t have to defend my own by those who are hyper-critical and ghost-ridden about their own.

What you see I write here is my own continuing resolution of the world around me, and my memories of it.

Because I know for myself how you can get all the self-esteem you want without having to tear someone else down to get it. I know that the peace of mind you have is due to the peace of mind you help others find.

So tolerance and forgiveness play a huge part in my own ideas and beliefs.

I only hope to share these with others who have encountered Scientology to any and all degrees.

ABC News 20/20 The Church of ScientologyThis other datum rings true, at least for me: Scientology creates its own enemies. In its policies is that one line, that the organizations are not subject to external pressures as much as internal ones. If the current management feels haunted, then it might seek to find what actions it has taken to bring that “motivator” on itself… Humility is the heart of Review, it is said.

How I Get Real Abundance into My Life by Habit http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/real-abundance-life/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/real-abundance-life/#comments Wed, 19 May 2010 15:56:17 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2810 scam Could Scientology be true?OK, I was in error – I misjudged. Thought I had nothing else to write about self-help.

But when you are going along in life, you hit some bumps. And of course, this also has to do with your spiritual training. The basics are much lower, though.

Look, the reasons you don’t have enough money in your life are due to 2 things:

  1. You have a bad mental habit of lack
  2. Your money desires are insatiable.

I can say that as a generality because I’ve not only been there, done that – but I’ve also studied all the authors who wrote about it, such as Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles, and Earl Prevette (among others – Troward, Behrend).

Lester Levenson was the capstone on this, though. He pointed out that all your personal programs you run on are simply a collection of memories and thoughts which are supposedly going to help you out. Unfortunately, they don’t.

scam Could Scientology be true? While you can release to get rid of these (ever heard of the Abundance Course by Larry Crane?), you really have to do a daily action on this for about 28-40 days. This works over your subconscious mind and tells it that you are expecting only showers of money or cash coming into your life from here on out. (Or whatever other imagery you want – like a money magnet or something.)

But that’s the real trick.

Daily, probably best is 3 times a day, sit down (or sit up if you are in bed) and get into an alpha-level meditative state (Silva Method), then do a quick Ho’oponopono (Zero Limits style) and then get into either your mental video (Silva UltraMind) or just simply release on it.

While the Goals releasing is best (where you write it down as you cover it), you can also simply do this short-handed technique:

  1. State your goal, out loud if you can. (“I allow my self to have routinely more than enough money to live on and support my family with ease” – for example.)
  2. Discover any feelings you are having about this and identify them (Apathy, Grief, Fear, Lust, Anger, Pride – 0r even the Expanded Scientology Tone Scale) and
  3. Then look below that to find out what desire is fueling that feeling (Control, Security/Safety, Approval).
  4. And let that go.
  5. Keep this up until you get very calm on the subject.

scam Could Scientology be true? Then end off, feeling better than before, perfectly relaxed, and come out of your Silva Method alpha level.

The trick is to simply keep this up, three times a day, every single day for a good month or more.

It gets easier as you go along, but take a calendar and mark off the days as you do it. Don’t skip, even if it’s going really fast. There are layers to come up and be released, like peeling an onion. Just keep going until there is no more onion.

28 days was found by various studies. But 40 days is the standard by various religious and spiritual texts.

If you want showers of cash or checks into your life (and bank account), then do the above. Print this off and post it by your work desk, and your night stand – along with that calendar page to mark off.

(And this is so simple, you can even do it on your commute – as long as you aren’t driving.)

Once you’ve got routine abundance into your life, then pick out another goal. Maybe perfect health or beautiful  relationships. Anything else you want to attact or manifest into your life.

Piece of cake.

But you have to taste it to know how good it really is…

Life After Scientology – How to Get all the Gains and Ability You Originally Wanted http://robertworstell.com/spiritual-training/scientology-advanced-levels/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/spiritual-training/scientology-advanced-levels/#comments Tue, 18 May 2010 20:59:22 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2796 Talking to an old friend last night brought up an interesting point for both of us. It seems that there were some original ideals we never achieved when we had been in Scientology.

I mentioned that as far as I knew, the abilities a person worked to achieve with their original “OT” levels were all possible with materials available outside that corporation, all researched and developed independently.

Of course, I then got curious what I had been looking for to begin with.

scam Could Scientology be true? What are “OT phenomenon” and abilities?

First, what is an “Operating Thetan” (“OT”)? This is essentially, by current definitions, ” a being operating at Cause”. But earlier editions of this definition placed the emphasis on a person being able to “exteriorize” at will and operate as a separate entity, not depending on needing a physical body. And then being able to influence things out in the environment, including telepathy, remote viewing, remote healing, etc.

I dug out my Internet copies of the OT levels to see what I had gone through before they made “NOTs” the Big Thing. Sure enough, here were all the points about being able to operate exterior and getting other people to start, stop, and change speed or direction. There was also mention of being able to be in any place on this planet or universe, totally at will. And creating any emotion at any time within your body. Finally, the last original OT Level dealt with increasing one’s ability to project communication into other people and life forms at a distance.

However, all these levels no longer exist in the official corporate line-up. So you can’t get there from here within Scientology.

And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, corporate-Scientology won’t be releasing any later levels after OT VIII, because they don’t know how.

scam Could Scientology be true? Additional research (for those “old-hand” Scientologists viewing) pointed up a Class XII, Pierre Ethier, who  was pretty highly trained in these original levels as well as all the modern releases. I was interested in his description of how the OT releases were bollixed up – and so moving all these people who were looking to the much advertised “operating exterior” drills had been replaced by expensive “negative gain” processes (where you are not getting improved abilities directly, but instead are simply getting rid of stuff which is “holding you back.”)

His conclusion was that the current corporate structure wasn’t interested in allowing people to get up to the level of reading minds at a distance, or being able to perceive others’ intentions, remote viewing of various meetings which were occurring, etc. In other words, there would be no way to keep anything secret, and you could no longer be the adverse effect of anyone telling you anything. So you’d instantly see the truth behind what they were saying, and they’d lose control over you and your money.

According to Ethier, all those NOTs levels were supposed to go between original OT VI and original OT VII, and

“OT VIII was originally written up in 1969. Around 1983, LRH wrote the final piece of that Rundown, a final step intended to polish up and stabilize the results.”

But what was released was only that last polish-up step.

Does this mean we are just completely out of luck – if that’s what we got into Scientology to learn how to do? Not necessarily.

But you’ve been able to do all of this for years, regardless

scam Could Scientology be true?

Ingo Swann

Now there was a lot of work done in remote viewing back in the 70’s and early 80’s as part of the Cold War. Both sides were using remote viewers to spy out each other’s stuff. And the work in our government paralleled Hubbard’s own research (see “Church of Spiritual Technology: IRS Approved” for the timeline.) Their reader-contributed data points to government/U.N. employees (Hal Putoff and Ingo Swann) enrolling in Scientology, getting up through OT VII and learning remote viewing.

Interestingly, Eastern disciplines (as well as the Polynesian “Huna” belief-system) have been able to do this for centuries. It’s just never been a set series of steps of study and practice.

scam Could Scientology be true? The wraps on this come off in the late 1990’s when Jose Silva is working with theta brain-waves (ironically named) and discovers a way to allow people to re-develop their native psychic skills. Perfecting this training and calling it “Silva UltraMind”, this series of lectures are available from various publishers such as Nightingale-Conant. Also available is a set by Dennis Higgins and John LaTourette on “Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing”, which takes the Silva discoveries a step further.

Per the materials, you can be doing your own remote viewing within minutes – and able to do this on your own without even needing to play a CD within a week. LaTourette gives a fascinating description of what’s possible, as well as various tests this type of material have been put through at http://silvaremoteviewing.com. And this is the link to the contents of that Remote Viewing/Influencing Home Study Course.

The great part is that you don’t have to spend 100’s of thousands and several years of your life to learn this. You could simply get the books and/or CD’s today and begin practicing your native “OT” abilities this week!

Creating Effects on Your Environment Through Thought

scam Could Scientology be true?Ok, this can get spooky. But if a self-help hypnosis-expert copywriter like Joe Vitale can get completely bowled over by this phenomenon, you might be interested…

Joe found this “urban legend” floating around where a doctor started curing criminally insane in a prison hospital ward – without ever interviewing a single one of them, and proceeded to empty out that same ward (and do himself out of a job.) Vitale traced this down to a Dr. Hew Len and worked and worked to finally get permission to write a book about what he had found and the doctor’s technique.

Based on an ancient Hawaiian healing technique called Ho’oponopono, Dr. Len’s modern version consists of four simple phrases – but can blow fixed conditions in your environment with ease.  Elsewhere on this site, I’ve gone into much more detail about this.

The point is that here is another inexpensive book, CD set, and DVD set which can tell you how to regain your native “OT” abilities.

scam Could Scientology be true?Of course, there’s more: Burt Goldman, while widely panned for his “Quantum Jumping” is actually only talking about skills he learned in teaching the Silva UltraMind Course. While he gives credit to Jose Silva, he’s put a different slant on this by telling you how you can contact your mirror-universe “doppelganger” to get the inside information on what you should be doing to achieve or acquire whatever it is you want.

Goldman first told about this in his “MindBox” series, where he gives you 44 different “mind tricks” to influence or correct various situations in the world around you – from healing, to intuition, and inspired answers to tough problems. Of course, when I read this, I was reminded of all those wild “OT phenomenon” stories I’d read about in the old “Advance!” magazines.

The difference was that this time, it was clearly laid out how to do these for yourself – and not having to go through years of processing and thousands of dollars to learn how.

Summary: How and Where to Get “OT Abilities” outside of Scientology

The trick to all of these is that there is no trick. Each of the authors who have produced this material clearly state that anyone can learn to do this – that this training only allows the native abilities you were born with to show up as every day talents.

And while this is all very exciting stuff, I’d recommend a gradient approach. Not all of this material will work for every person out there. Some will work better for a few. There is no “typical results” in any of this.

1. Get Joe Vitale’s “Zero Limits” and study these up. Do some regular Ho’oponopono for yourself. Start changing your world.

2. Get Silva Ultra Mind or Remote Viewing and Influencing Course to start visiting places you’ve always wanted to,  while leaving your body at home. (If you’d prefer to attend a live seminar, here’s a list of certified Silva instructors.)

3. Try out Quantum Jumping and see what you can do with all the answers to every potential life-problem.

scam Could Scientology be true? And of course, you can always try Levenson’s Release Technique, which will make all these new abilities permanent.

Don’t spend thousands, but get all the fantastic abilities you’ve always wanted. And yes, unlike corporate Scientology, it’s all sold on a money-back guarantee if you can’t get the results you want…

- – - -

(Or just skip it and keep going to those fancy events several times a year. But you realize you’ve just been reading some real squirrel material and now have a PTS connection to run out…)

Cheers!

How I found the Dead End of Corporate Scientology http://robertworstell.com/scam/dead-end-corporate-scientology/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/scam/dead-end-corporate-scientology/#comments Mon, 17 May 2010 02:57:09 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2784 scam Could Scientology be true?

(Preamble: the below are my comments and conclusions on my own personal understanding of Scientology. For those who are happy and succeeding with your practice of that belief-system: carry on. This post isn’t for you. But those who have any doubts may find some data below to support your suspicions…)

Recently I dragged myself, nearly kicking and screaming, back into the world of Scientology and it’s books. I watched and listened to the current corporate head delivering his stylized version of how they “uncovered errors to restore the basic books to their original intended version” – all just because some well-meaning staffer sent me a package of them.

There were two differences I noticed from when I was an active Scientologist a decade ago. One was that there was now only the Miscavidge Way. No other execs were on the stage or presenting anything. Second - these confirmed why I quit believing that Hubbard only spoke sooth long ago.

scam Could Scientology be true? I was watching a person who had taken over all control of Scientology-the-Corporation, telling this adoring, almost enraptured audience that now they could re-read and study the “Master’s” words in a correct sequence without any errors. Never mind that they read them several times before – here we go again.

Hubbard was definitely prolific, and researched a wide range of materials. The premise for all this work was that there was a unifying theme behind it.

Unfortunately for me, I got onto the Internet right after leaving staff. I didn’t avoid this stuff like the plague as active Scientologists are told to do. Because I had built their first corporate websites – all 30-some thousand pages in several languages. So I knew what you could find on the web, all that information.

scam Could Scientology be true? The information I found on Hubbard was remarkable. Not to you, but to those of us who had been instilled with the idea that he was some sort of super-being who had left some sort of indelible bread-crumb trail we only had to walk to eventually get up to the high state where we could touch his robe.

First datum I found: Hubbard was very human. Had multiple wives, and at one point was a bigamist. In fact, he took his first daughter (who you never heard much about) to Cuba in order to write his “Science of Survival” book – mostly to hide from wife No. 2 while he had his lawyers cool her off enough to get out from under that marriage. Or that’s the corroborated version I found.

Second datum: Hubbard was far from infallible. And he had created a messy scene through his directions through his corporate bodies. As he continued, the lawsuits mounted, based on no more than simple mistreatment of people who worked for him and the laws they broke to carry out his instructions. Finally, he hid out at a ranch and turned over control to others so that he could get out from under various law suits. And died under mysterious circumstances, having drugs in his bloodstream which has been designed and used by the very psychiatrists he hated and maligned.

scam Could Scientology be true? Third datum: He left no “Upper Bridge” of courses and materials. All of the materials they say is “Secret” is too easily found on the Internet. And the people who are left standing have no clue how to compile those remaining “upper levels” from the supposed rooms of file cabinets full of notes. So the remaining loyal Scientologists who still follow the “closely taped path” are now dead-ended. Hubbard didn’t do it and didn’t let (or admit) anyone else (could).

In short, what Hubbard produced as results were now questionable. However, this is not just an ad hominem attack. (I cover more of this below, particularly in the update.)

When I started looking up the materials which he so often denigrated, I found that what he had thrown away was often more valuable than what he had extracted. Yoga was one. Another was Christianity, and still another, Buddhism. Then there were Hindu texts. People were actually getting enlightened throughout history on each and every one of these paths. And yet Hubbard proclaimed them all to be “dead-ends.”

Other materials he simply declared “suppressive” were also useful, such as Lester Levenson’s Sedona Method (release technique). While Hubbard’s Dianetics and Scientology were both found to fail university studies, Levenson’s work (and also the similarly-declared Silva Method) were proved valid in helping people to improve conditions through repeated university studies and even independent peer-reviewed research.

(And to those loyal corporate-cult followers reading this, yes, I’m one of your open-minded “squirrels”.)

scam Could Scientology be true?Along this line, I had gone to find out if there was any possible natural system at work below all self-help and improvement. This would then either support or disprove the methods Hubbard (or any other self-help guru) recommended. I found out that there does exist a natural system of improvement. Many, many, many authors have found the bulk of this. And this system is also found in every single major religion’s texts (if not in their practices) as long as you take them back to their original versions. And what is workable within Scientology is also based on that natural system.

When these studies showed Hubbard went out of his way to diss and degrade all these religions and belief-systems just in order to prop up his own, it began to get a bit strained. As all of these other belief-systems also proved improved conditions, if not creating bona-fide miracles, they were in need of study, not criticism.

(Hubbard also had many, many people studying his own life and reporting on what they found. And the Internet also delivered these. If you only take the commonalities of these reports, you’ll see a very different picture from what was routinely presented at all the various events we staff had to attend over the years.)

What I’ve uncovered from all this independent study and research is a way of achieving enlightenment which is possible in just one month of dedicated work. This is what Lester Levenson said was possible. He himself made the state in 3 months, but with the techniques he refined, said he could have done it in a month if he had those techniques available when he started. (But you can also be critical of Levenson if you choose…)

Levenson himself said that Scientology was a huge advance, that auditing could do overnight what a psychiatrist would take months. However, he also stated that they would take at least an entire lifetime to achieve what someone trained in Sedona Method could do in months – or a single month.

There are other additional techniques a person could include in Sedona Method to even speed this up.

The point of all that is to tell that Scientology has no “monopoly on the human mind”.

scam Could Scientology be true? And the highly touted “Standard Tech” (see update below) is actually a strait-jacket in a padded cell, far from a “route to total freedom.” The only people finding increasing freedom in their lives are those who have left this subject and have studied either outside that remaining corporate structure – or took up other, more basic materials.

So what are we then left with? Declining membership, beautiful-but-empty buildings, increasing tales of physical abuse from management and rising numbers of veteran and formerly life-long dedicated staff leaving (such as myself).

The corporate side of this organization is imploding at a mad rate. But the technical end of it isn’t so supportive, either. At the time I left, I had been to their top-level Flag for their “training” and found that not only were they not doing what Hubbard had said to do with their “Training Routines” and Metering courses, but were also using politics to silence those who were reporting the alterations. Being “audited” later by one of their graduates also showed me personally how they couldn’t get results despite their “Golden Age of Tech”. Meanwhile, I had also seen that the policies Hubbard had laid down years (even decades) earlier weren’t being followed, even though known. And I had evidence of this being true even from those who worked directly under Miscavidge.

scam Could Scientology be true?scam Could Scientology be true?Essentially, for at least a decade, corporate Scientology has been “off-Source” in their three prized areas of “Ethics, Tech, and Admin”. And now, it is showing in the numbers of books by abused staff available through Amazon.

Now, this isn’t to say there isn’t a great deal of material inside these writings and recordings that can and does help people. The problem is that it’s interspersed with some very destructive corporate policies and close-minded denigrations which keep people from looking for themselves.

To my mind, the whole subject went irreversibly down the tubes with the 1969 issue of “Keeping Scientology Working”, where Hubbard denied anyone else’s actual assistance in “discovering” Scientology. He doesn’t mention his own wide borrowing of materials from other faiths and authors. And so denied the giants whose shoulders he stood on to see further (per Isaac Newton). And creating the Sea Org just made the whole thing worse – and their “Flag Orders” have been used to justify Miscavidge’s rise to current “power”.

But I’m not here to do other than give a summary of what I found.

scam Could Scientology be true? For I long ago found there was no profit in dealing with Scientology. There is closure by writing what you find for yourself. And I’ve worked for this decade after leaving that corporate cult to find and write up my own path of how I got this closure and moved on. It helped that I cut all ties and returned all their mail, but none of their phone messages. There are a very small handful of people I talk to infrequently, who knew me from before. I keep up on matters (when I get idly curious) by watching the Internet – but mostly Scientology is a huge distraction to any spiritual progress I could make.

Others will have their own opinions. And those who are still getting gains within Scientology, whether at a corporate-approved organization, or in the field – keep going for all it’s worth. Get all the gains you can. And know that if you do leave corporate Scientology at any point, these gains leave with you. No one can ever, ever take these away from you.

I am only telling you that there will never be any additional OT levels released. OT VIII was the last – and it was in fragments. Where you see these “OT’s” now leaving the corporate fold, realize that they do not leave any stable gain behind when they do. Only their own personal invalidation (or agreement with those who would criticize them) could create any adverse effect on them. If you study the materials that Hubbard studied, then you’ll see where the gains you received actually came from – and how to get more of them.

But this is only my opinion.

scam Could Scientology be true?I no longer fear this corporation. I have nothing of value that they would possibly want. I am connected to no group of people who are working actively against them. I only want to be left alone, in peace. (Plus, people driving out to my fairly remote farm can’t create much effect on the grass, trees, cows, and wildlife out here…)

Their threats of being “declared suppressive” are bogus – since there is no upper Bridge to worry about, is there? Their “freeloader” status is another laugh if you don’t ever intend to take services with them. Legally, there is no debt to prosecute. More corporate-cult harassment.

And I’ve already found perhaps a dozen or more additional paths a person could follow reach even higher states than Hubbard ever researched or the current corporate head approves. (And these are easily found for any who have already exhausted what corporate Scientology has to offer and still want to really achieve their “Total Freedom”.)

So I say to everyone: believe as you will. And listen to no one – including myself – who tells you how to believe. Search for the truth in the world around you which is true for you. Because that is the only truth that counts. (As Hubbard covered in his Essay on Personal Integrity…) You are and have always been free to communicate to whoever you want to and however you like. You have always had the freedom to read, and think, and realize any damned thing you please. No one has ever been able to tell you not to or deny you that choice.

Just this final piece of advice: Be Your Self.

- – - -

Update: (even before this goes live) Having read recent posts on Marty Rathbun’s blog as well as scientology-cult.com, I was reminded that there is a precarious situation ongoing: Scientology only can be (and always has needed to be ) delivered within a very tight set of constraints. It does work, but only within its very narrow world. All within that world must have incredible faith in the “technology” of Scientology as being infallibly correct. One you get a crack in that dike (as I experienced), then the ensuing flood tears a new outlet and the dam breaks irrevocably.

As a long-time “cramming officer”, I saw this first hand. And this is what drove me right out of doing any “tech” application. People were afraid, and were altering what they knew was in writing or on tape – as policy, “tech”, or ethics – in order to preserve their own safety, control, or approval. I was frequently able to debug very snarled-up people in just minutes of “two-way-communication”, yet was attacked because I didn’t use a meter until after the fact (while I could often sort them out in the time it took to get down the hallway to my office). …Because executives over me were afraid of being attacked if what I was doing (helping people directly) was “found out.”

The point here is that Scientology as it was known will never ever recover. Certain individuals, as my friend Marty (who I haven’t seen in decades) are able to carry on by themselves. But they will never be able to run any international organization or keep up the standards necessary to do so. Practicing Scientology will only be possible on very local affairs after the current corporate-cult collapses from internal intrigue. Because there have been too many abuses, starting well before Hubbard passed on. The cat is out of the bag, and Miscavige has been the one holding the strings at the time.

Living Large or Small, This Choice is Yours Alone http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/living-large/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/living-large/#comments Sun, 25 Apr 2010 23:31:31 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2565 scam Could Scientology be true? While we all chase this, we all endure it, some thrive in it – but it is only this discussion of Life and Death.

Levenson holds that all our desires (insatiable wants and needs) stem from this. It certainly held his interest after the doctor told him he had days, perhaps three months to live.

But Levenson was as some describe, an “alpha” personality – one who was driven and high-energy in their living.

So some excuse this discovery of his to be nothing more than an extension of how hard he had lived his life to that point. When deprived of all his other options, when shown that all the various engineering degrees and studies he had masters, all that information he had acquired – shown that all of this was worth nothing compared to his life being over at age 42 – some would say that he simply took all that energy and turned it within.

Of the various biographies of Lester Levenson, I still consider the most well-written to be found on Larry Crane’s site (I haven’t found a direct navigation to it, but Google gave it to me here.)

The point is that there is no point.

Huna holds that life is a dream, that when we “die”, it is simply waking to a new dream. Levenson often used that description of life and death. Your dreams are real and you live in them.

My background in Scientology also steeped me in the ideas of past lives. While these are true for some, they are un-provable to others. (Unfortunately, I found that those beliefs and their “auditing” also opened up the idea of being able to live simultaneous lives – so caveat emptor. As well, you are able to go into “past track” into earlier universes, but what happens if you “jump” into a universe which has a different concept of time, or isn’t based on time – or if you go so far backtrack that time doesn’t exist as it hasn’t been “mocked up” yet?)

All philosophies, all belief systems have holes.

None are sacrosanct -  not even what you are reading.

Because progress is personal and singular. What two people want are never identical, even in twins.

What turns one’s person crank can turn the next person right off.

Life and death can be said to be part of the same coin. (One with no edge, metaphysically speaking.)

You can hold this coin in your pocket, or the palm of your hand, or skip it across the pond, or spend it at a bar. You still have it back and, like a bad penny, keeps showing up.

Death is just a different form of Life. Pretty final, perhaps. But on the other hand, you see people “dying” for years – some jobs are called a “slow death”. And people can revive from near death (like Levenson did) and live as long after as they did before.

The deal is this: you get out of life what you put in. Live for yourself alone and you get yourself alone. Live for others and you find that your own life improves to that degree.

But regardless, there is a way to live peacefully – and this depends on your learning to deal with death as a non-event. And derive your peace in living from the quality of life you find around you.

For me, this has come directly by releasing, more than anything else I’ve tried. Even now, the various guru presentations and “life coaches” I read up on – there is a calmness which pervades everything I study. And while I pick up new tricks, I see nothing revolutionary or basic compared to what I’ve already found.

And I could have died at age 21 when I contracted cancer. But I decided I had more to do and the cancer healed. It wasn’t the many surgeries or treatments which I endured – it was my own decision to persevere.

Now I have it all. Anything I want I can now demonstrate in my life. These next few months will simply be tests of this, more that I’ll be refining these techniques so that I can teach others (or at least blog about it).

For I could sleep tonight and not wake up. Or next week, next month, or a hundred years from now.

This is not your life. Your mileage may and will vary. But try it for yourself. See if  you don’t like what you find.

Personal Improvement Crossovers and Compartments http://robertworstell.com/personal-development/crossovers-compartments/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/personal-development/crossovers-compartments/#comments Mon, 19 Apr 2010 02:05:10 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2514 scam Could Scientology be true? All life, at least our humankind version of it, is severely compartmented. People live their lives in cloistered cubicles, even when they are right next to a person. Each of us lives very unique experiences – so much so that when a set of witnesses watch an accident happen, no two people have the same report.

And we keep our knowledge and our beliefs running in this same manner. Sciences are kept uniquely different in different fields. Medicine is even more refined – specialists for everything. Cancer treatment is by area of the body, not by type of cancer. (Even though all cancer has commonalities of causation and treatment.)

So we can take this to extremes, and live very individuated lives. It’s even remarkable nowadays when people share the same thought simultaneously. Or have pets who “know” when you are sick or feeling down. People who are “empathetic” are valued highly.

But to study ancient philosophies and religious texts, our modern world is the anomaly. These books and scrolls and verbal traditions tell us that we are all connected. All interconnected. We can actually find out anything we want to whenever or wherever we choose.

Quantum Physicists have been some of the first scientists to discover this – that the presence of the operator causes the outcome of the experiment, no matter how well shielded. And so many of these have gone back to study philosophies, especially ancient Eastern texts, in order to understand what they had just ran into.

This is another indicator of scam or fraud – when they won’t let you look at other data. Wide open studies like Huna tell you to use any part or all of what you find workable for yourself and improve on it or combine it with other studies. Corporations like Scientology tell you not to “mix practices” and that studying related fields or authors is “squirreling”. (While Hubbard himself crafted his work based on a wide variety of texts ranging from Aleister Crowley and Qabalah to Psychology and “past life regression”. He then called these by his own nomenclature and slang, creating his own ivory tower you weren’t supposed to step foot out of.) It’s no small wonder that Scientology has long had the moniker of “cult”.

Internet Coaching and Marketing guru’s have this same problem. Once they train people to get out on the Internet for themselves,  their consumers will find that they don’t have all the answers and then leave – and might even demand their money back. (The most petulant of these can’t stand to be blogged about, either.)

But the answers to any questions can be found simply when you look for crossovers from other fields.

The more I look for answers, the more I find. As long as you keep a truly open mind and are testing everything you find for workability, you find amazing material that can radically improve your life. You’ll also find where studies and systems are missing huge chunks which would make them more workable.

My own results in looking for crossovers lead me to the four core studies which interacted as a “tetrad” and would result in real increase of personal ability, prosperity, and freedom: Huna, Silva Method, Levenson Release Technique, and New Thought bestsellers.

That’s more or less documented with my post on 4 Goals to Achieve…

I invite you to study these four resources and find the crossovers for yourself – not just to accept what I say here.

And I can only tell you that by being truly open to the world around you, and seeing it for what it is – not what you think it should be or would like to change it into – only then will you see a remarkable world around you and be able to take advantage of the vast amount of opportunities ever present.

4 Goals to Achieve which will Save Your Life and Everyone Else as well http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/4-goals-world-peace/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/4-goals-world-peace/#comments Fri, 16 Apr 2010 11:41:37 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2483 scam Could Scientology be true?I tend to learn from my “dreams”, even when it’s the one we share in living in this Universe.

And last night was a doozy. But what came from it is that when you release on goals in order to achieve them, you are actually helping everyone around you as well. So the bigger the goal, the more you help humankind in general.

Meaning, that if you really have concern for this planet and the people on it, you’ll work on releasing the biggest goals you can dream of. We are all connected, after all.

These four goals (word them as you like):

  • World Peace
  • Abundance for every single person
  • Ecological balance
  • Personal Freedom for every single person

Now, I could tell you more about these (and have, in my various blog posts over the years), but the key point is that you need to deal with individuals to get this to work. Never, ever, the government. Because the government (like money) is a fiction, a contrivance and as you release more and more, it becomes obvious that people only use the concept of government to control, to gain approval, and to provide a false sense of security.

The next point it is that you never “fight” anything. That also doesn’t work. You become the thing you are fighting. In order to dissolve a situation, you will need to simply welcome it and release it. Recognize it for what it is and let it go. It will then cease to have any effect on you. If you do need to do something, you’ll get the intuitional inspiration of what to do. Don’t “think” about it – just put it into motion.

As you start working on these broad goals to release, then you’ll see how they interact, as well as other reasons you need to work on all four. Time permitting, I’ll set these each up with the data I have and help you as possible with your own work.

4 studies to learn from

My own background, as I’ve said, came from Scientology – although I don’t use anything I learned there anymore. It was a great introduction to a wide world of philosophers, religious prophets, and spiritual guides, but it’s a limited study.

When I started butting up against the limits of that subject, I started studying the core texts it was derived from. This lead to my “Go Thunk Yourself!” study, which lead me right into New Thought.

New Thought is a very wide umbrella which has incorporated a lot earlier philosophers, as well as the bulk of the really successful self-help books such as “Think and Grow Rich”, “Science of Getting Rich”, and “Master Key System.”

Somewhere along those studies, I stumbled upon Huna. This is the oldest known surviving philosophy on this planet. And interestingly, owes its rebirth in popularity (at least in the Western world) to Max Freedom Long, who gave it it’s name. (Practically, the subject was so immersed in the culture, that it didn’t have a single name before that point, much like water has several names for its various forms.) Long was a New Thought student, but I found that out later.

The third study is Silva Method, after the work Jose Silva did in his life-long study of the human condition and how to improve it. This is very powerful stuff, more powerful than even its practitioners know. But in the last decade, they’ve seen how it’s more broadly applicable than earlier known.

A fourth study is Lester Levenson’s release technique. Also known as the Sedona Method. And there are other variants around – they all work. Larry Crane and Hale Dwoskin, as well as Stephen Seretan – all these have their own individual approaches, but they all trained directly under Levenson and so got the real scoop on how to help anyone achieve their own Freedom and Peace of Mind.

I use all four of these together as the most effective way to quickly resolve personal situations and problems in my life.

Any of them individually would take you right on out to enlightenment if you really, really studied and applied them. All of them can also be toyed with to simply make your life more comfortable.

My own use, with Haanel, Hill, and Wattles providing the theoretical base – is to use the Alpha centering technique of Silva to get into a high personal state in order to use Levenson’s release technique to simply let things go. Huna provides the glue to hold everything together.

And I would tell you these four things:

  1. Know we are all connected (7 principles of Huna).
  2. Know how the universe works (New Thought authors as listed.)
  3. Use Silva techniques to get into a personal high state of certainty.
  4. Release with Levenson’s techniques so that you drop the underlying desires which hold everything in place.

Where to get the data

I’ve worked to republish the key New Thought authors at my Go Thunk Yourself Bookstore (Lulu.com).

For Huna, I have Max Freedom Long’s books there and also tell you to visit http://huna.org , where you’ll see all Serge Kahili King’s work. Tad James’ work is also recommended.

While Silva has undergone many transitions since Jose passed on, I’d still recommend getting a copy of his Ultra-Mind CD’s as you can. These I know give you all the data you need to get going. (I’ll find you a good link for this.)

Levenson’s original stuff is most easily found at Larry Crane’s site. I’ve also found some original Levenson recordings on Hale’s, but it’s much harder to locate there.

Practically, all of the above is also released to the Internet in various forms. So if you can afford to spend the time and bandwidth, you can get this all for “free.”

The key point is to get this data, get your self proofed up and doing well, then tackle the bigger issues we all face as part of humankind.

[An interesting note: you'll see in both of these sets that they line up more or less as "tetrads" - which you can find more about on my "Go Thunk Yourself, Again!" blog.]

It's all too simple – a solution for Scientology, ex-Scientologists and all their families and friends. http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/scientology-solution/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/scientology-solution/#comments Wed, 07 Apr 2010 04:13:07 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=642 Better things to do with and after Scientology

Been listening to some great stuff that should give a solution to the Scientology problem.

It’s a problem because there is a lie inside it.

And I’m not going to either justify Hubbard or his Scientology, nor will I negate it.

I’m saying that there is a life after it, and that there is a tool which will both help a person enhance the gains they experienced and also allow them to move on – or to stay in.

That solution is the Sedona Method. With this simple set of processes (and there are only 5), you can get relief from any suffering you’ve endured on behalf of or due to the management of Scientology.

I’ve read that it’s estimated that it takes 12 years to “get over” Scientology. Unfortunately, this isn’t true. Anything you resist, you get. And as you continue to hold onto the difficulties and inequities of that belief-system, there is no “getting over”.

By using the Sedona Method, a scientifically proven method-set which has been around since the early 50′s, you can get relief form any significant remaining charge you have about how you’ve been treated through the various Scientology organizations.

For those who want advanced studies, there are some tapes I’ve been listening to from the founder of the Sedona Method, Lester Levenson. These will really show some very simple and basic laws which the whole study of Scientology was based – but were heuristically discovered by Levenson when he was sent home to die at the age of 42. A trained physicist and engineer, he has many parallels to Hubbard, but has left a legacy which grows independent of any corporate structure.

But the key is that you can apply it yourself, or get with “co-auditors” to apply it to each other.

The most expensive package, which contains 20 CD’s and a workbook, is still only around $300 – $400. A free introductory CD and DVD is found at the main site, sedona.com

So you can find this all out for yourself at no or little cost.

I’m giving you this data as I’ve been struggling along with all my own baggage since I left my 20+ year Sea Org career at the end of 2000. And finally, I’ve gotten the peace in this area I’ve been looking for in all those years.

You should check this stuff out.

Contact me via this blog and I’ll help you anyway I can to make the transition. Not in selling you anything or telling you what you need to believe, but just to listen.

And you can comment below, as well.

After all, with what you’ve already been through, what do you have to lose?

Global Warming, the IRS, and Scientology – Bullies http://robertworstell.com/scam/global-warming-irs-scientology/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/scam/global-warming-irs-scientology/#comments Sun, 07 Feb 2010 16:48:41 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=1614 scam Could Scientology be true? What do these three have in common? Simple:

  1. They have to threaten you to get what they want.
  2. They are based on convenient fictions.
  3. They need your money to survive.

Of course, they also are all government related, but they also prey on your basic needs. And they are all scams, but what else is new…

Global Warming does exist, but it runs in cycles, both on 30 years periods, and also 1500-year and even longer cycles. Al Gore and his fictions started out with bogus data inside a Powerpoint, which was compounded by scientists who falsified their data in order to get or preserve huge government subsidies. Gore himself profits by this with his personal company that makes money off selling “carbon credits”. …While he meanwhile lives in a huge mansion and flies jets around to accept his awards.

The IRS was originally voted into law on the basis that they would tax the “very rich” in order to pay for the Civil War. Of course, since then it has started picking all of our pockets. It’s a favorite boondoggle of politicians, who riddle the code with inconsistencies on behalf of various corporate lobbyists. And these same politicians – who never think in terms of saving money by cutting spending or a balanced budget – only proclaim that we would “lose money” if we cut taxes. (But practically, we have the evidence of actually raising revenue as well as providing more jobs in each instance where presidents cut them: Kennedy, Reagan, Bush.)

Scientology threatens excommunication from friends and family if you don’t go along with their demands and keep supporting their financial causes. They got their IRS exemption as a “church” by actually suing and threatening the IRS and its officials itself. And the Anonymous protests continue due to the C of S denied-but-practiced policy of enforced disconnection. Of course, no one can trace where all those millions which their parishioners spend (mostly tax-free) with them goes. Or how hard it is to get it back, even when you are a celebrity. (And of course, these facts have to be documented, while the other two are more common knowledge.)

How to stop their bullying

All is not sad, however. Tracking back these commonalities also show us how to get free from their effects.

It has to do with people not wanting to return the way they came into this world – helpless, penniless, dependent. Essentially, they continue learning to thrive by exploiting the Lester Levenson buttons of control, approval, and security. If you learn to accept (or welcome) these and let them go (or release), you don’t have to stay effect of any of these. (Of course getting scam-free has been laid out “Get Your Self Scam Free”…)

And the other point is to learn to do with less government in your life. Because none of these would continue to exist if you didn’t give away so many of your rights to others.

Now, these all may seem far too simple. But these simple solutions work. It just takes a lot of people applying them personally. The only real side effect is that you get more personal Freedom, Happiness, and Peace of Mind showing up in your life.

A far cry from how government officials and their flunkies sleep at night.

Here’s wishing you a scam-free life.

Does Scientology and Hubbard blow or suck? http://robertworstell.com/scam/scientology-lronhubbard/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/scam/scientology-lronhubbard/#comments Sat, 23 Jan 2010 16:24:54 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=1499 scam Could Scientology be true?

Just woke up from a nightmare involving Scientology and L. Ron Hubbard. Which is weird, since it’s been years. Used to have them regularly. And practically, only my study of Huna as a comparative belief-system actually was able to get any sense of these (and make them quit).

Scientology is a closed system, a religion which doesn’t believe in any God, but rather emphasizes the spirituality of the individual.

My Billion Year Contract: Memoir of a Former ScientologistIt’s run by a corporate cult, in that in order to live and work and succeed around that organization, you have to believe and act in certain ways. A lot of that involves kowtowing (bowing deeply in subservience) to the existing corporate heads and to Hubbard in absentia.

From an outsiders’ view, simply look how North Korea acts and you’ll have some parallels.

Sure, I’m being critical here. Probably the last time I’ll bring this up.

But there’s a difference between the philosophy of Scientology and what Hubbard created as a management body to carry on after he left. Even Anonymous - on it’s two-year anniversary of protesting against this corporation – respects the beliefs of those followers and staff, but not the decisions the corporation makes and continues.

Philosophically, Scientology was taken off the rails right at a policy called Keeping Scientology Working, where Hubbard said that he alone created and distilled this body of work and that no one else was going to be permitted to help him with this after that point. Lots of contribution helped him get to where he was. And when you look over his work, you’ll find that he got all of his ideas (yes, every single one) from some earlier author. Everything can be traced back. Everything.

In order to sort out my own head after 20+ years as staff, I’ve had to do considerable amount of this back-tracking. I’ve described this scene graphically:

Imagine a basketball court whose floor is filled with ice cream sundaes. From side to side, right up to the bleachers which surround it. Scientology is the cherries picked off all those sundaes. The best part (and most filling) has been left on the floor. People are told who study this work that “that is all there is”. But frankly, they are missing the best part.

Deceived (One Woman's stand against the Church of Scientology.)While Hubbard would tell people in his “Way to Happiness” to not be critical and to treat others according to the Golden Rule, he didn’t follow his own advice. His recorded lectures are intensely critical of many different subjects. You can find all of Hubbard’s recordings online now – check it out for yourself.

Essentially, he wanted to get rich and was successful in that. He also died mysteriously, on psychiatric drugs. No family or friends present, only a caretaker who was last heard about as hiding from corporate Scientology.

But you take Hubbard’s belief-system and compare it with Alan Watt’s description of Zen that he gave in a lecture once. He said Zen has no doctrine, no dogma, no belief-system you have to accept. It’s simply a way of life.

Now then, if one must try to say something about what Zen is, and I want to do this by way of introduction, I must make it emphatic that Zen, in its essence, is not a doctrine. There’s nothing you’re supposed to believe in. It’s not a philosophy in our sense, that is to say a set of ideas, an intellectual net in which one tries to catch the fish of reality.

The Road to Xenu:Life Inside ScientologyScientology is no way of life. It’s a dogmatic belief-system enforced by threat of excommunication and shunning. And even Hubbard agrees that Zen Buddhism civilized the bulk of this planet.

It’s actually easier to research Scientology than it is Alan Watts. My opinion on why this is so is that the corporate structure Hubbard formed is so destructive in the actions it takes that it engenders antipathetic comments and criticism. Fuels the very fire that is burning it.

I should know, I was part of it for years. And for those I hurt with my actions, I apologize.

Since, I’ve worked as I can through my books,  this blog, and other sites to help others find their own way out of the winding labyrinth which Hubbard created through his corporate Scientology. You’ll see on this blog that I’ve got several proposals which can help people get their own life back.

So others don’t have to have recurring nightmares anymore.

This write-up was probably overdue. In October, it will be a decade since I left. And it’s only been through an intense study of scams in the last two years, where I saw that the “long arm” of the legal and PR branches of corporate Scientology are nothing to fear. Rather, they are subject to simple pity. Even the heads of these branches have been leaving that sinking ship in droves, lately.

Your life is and has always been your own. Live it as best you can. And any current or former Scientologist who wants to get relief – just contact me via this blog. I’ll help as best I can.
