The simplicity of spiritual training is to look for things unseen, to seek for stuff which can’t easily be sensed.
Huh?
Look – have you seen a spirit? OK, it’s more common than you think. Ever shook hands with one? That’s a lot rarer.
But the bottom line to any success in this universe (if you want to call it that) is simply seeking perfection in everything around you and all that you do. Even if it doesn’t exist. And you have to start with your own mind.
Wallace Wattles was the first I’ve read to really put this across:
“And he must do, every day, all that can be done that day, taking care to do each act in a successful manner.”
But you’ll also find it in the authors he studied, like Thomas Troward, or in contemporaries such as Charles Haanel.
One of my favorites down this line is Christian Larson (“The Ideal Made Real”) where he examined the old Hermetic Principle that the Law of Attraction was based on – Correspondence. “As within, so without.”
Meaning that as you get peace internally, you’ll find a peaceful world around you. As you recognize the basic abundance you already possess (and no one can take away from you), then you’ll see that world around you then start giving you things in abundance. And of course, it never hurts to use the Golden Rule and start helping other people find their own abundance regardless of how much you have showing up. And give this away in advance, completely open-handedly.
Of course, all this can be tracked right back to the Huna,
“The world is what you think it is.”
and
“Energy flows where attention goes.”
The spiritual technique I’d like to share today is very, very simple (as usual.)
When you see something non-optimum, apply Ho’oponopono (see Vitale’s Zero Limits) to immediately take responsibility for it as part of your universe.
Then get the vision back in front of you for the most perfect ideal you could imagine – make this real and also release this to the Universe to take care of.
If you get some “noise” coming in, then release that by tracing back the negative/non-optimum feeling that showed up right down to the basic desire and let all that go. Keep this up until your normal state of calm returns.
Then again get that vision out, dust it off, and send it off to Higher Intelligence to take care of.
What this does is to get perfection showing up around you. And while it’s true that Zen says everything around you is already perfect (such as Alan Watts), you are responsible to make the world the way you want it. Not that you are getting into having to change it, but you can get into the game of how beautiful and nice it can be.
We are just making our internal world perfect, and so the outer world will follow suit.

Talking to an old friend last night brought up an interesting point for both of us. It seems that there were some original ideals we never achieved when we had been in Scientology.
I mentioned that as far as I knew, the abilities a person worked to achieve with their original “OT” levels were all possible with materials available outside that corporation, all researched and developed independently.
Of course, I then got curious what I had been looking for to begin with.
What are “OT phenomenon” and abilities?
First, what is an “Operating Thetan” (“OT”)? This is essentially, by current definitions, ” a being operating at Cause”. But earlier editions of this definition placed the emphasis on a person being able to “exteriorize” at will and operate as a separate entity, not depending on needing a physical body. And then being able to influence things out in the environment, including telepathy, remote viewing, remote healing, etc.
I dug out my Internet copies of the OT levels to see what I had gone through before they made “NOTs” the Big Thing. Sure enough, here were all the points about being able to operate exterior and getting other people to start, stop, and change speed or direction. There was also mention of being able to be in any place on this planet or universe, totally at will. And creating any emotion at any time within your body. Finally, the last original OT Level dealt with increasing one’s ability to project communication into other people and life forms at a distance.
However, all these levels no longer exist in the official corporate line-up. So you can’t get there from here within Scientology.
And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, corporate-Scientology won’t be releasing any later levels after OT VIII, because they don’t know how.
Additional research (for those “old-hand” Scientologists viewing) pointed up a Class XII, Pierre Ethier, who was pretty highly trained in these original levels as well as all the modern releases. I was interested in his description of how the OT releases were bollixed up – and so moving all these people who were looking to the much advertised “operating exterior” drills had been replaced by expensive “negative gain” processes (where you are not getting improved abilities directly, but instead are simply getting rid of stuff which is “holding you back.”)
His conclusion was that the current corporate structure wasn’t interested in allowing people to get up to the level of reading minds at a distance, or being able to perceive others’ intentions, remote viewing of various meetings which were occurring, etc. In other words, there would be no way to keep anything secret, and you could no longer be the adverse effect of anyone telling you anything. So you’d instantly see the truth behind what they were saying, and they’d lose control over you and your money.
According to Ethier, all those NOTs levels were supposed to go between original OT VI and original OT VII, and
“OT VIII was originally written up in 1969. Around 1983, LRH wrote the final piece of that Rundown, a final step intended to polish up and stabilize the results.”
But what was released was only that last polish-up step.
Does this mean we are just completely out of luck – if that’s what we got into Scientology to learn how to do? Not necessarily.
But you’ve been able to do all of this for years, regardless
Ingo Swann
Now there was a lot of work done in remote viewing back in the 70’s and early 80’s as part of the Cold War. Both sides were using remote viewers to spy out each other’s stuff. And the work in our government paralleled Hubbard’s own research (see “Church of Spiritual Technology: IRS Approved” for the timeline.) Their reader-contributed data points to government/U.N. employees (Hal Putoff and Ingo Swann) enrolling in Scientology, getting up through OT VII and learning remote viewing.
Interestingly, Eastern disciplines (as well as the Polynesian “Huna” belief-system) have been able to do this for centuries. It’s just never been a set series of steps of study and practice.
The wraps on this come off in the late 1990’s when Jose Silva is working with theta brain-waves (ironically named) and discovers a way to allow people to re-develop their native psychic skills. Perfecting this training and calling it “Silva UltraMind”, this series of lectures are available from various publishers such as Nightingale-Conant. Also available is a set by Dennis Higgins and John LaTourette on “Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing”, which takes the Silva discoveries a step further.
Per the materials, you can be doing your own remote viewing within minutes – and able to do this on your own without even needing to play a CD within a week. LaTourette gives a fascinating description of what’s possible, as well as various tests this type of material have been put through at http://silvaremoteviewing.com. And this is the link to the contents of that Remote Viewing/Influencing Home Study Course.
The great part is that you don’t have to spend 100’s of thousands and several years of your life to learn this. You could simply get the books and/or CD’s today and begin practicing your native “OT” abilities this week!
Creating Effects on Your Environment Through Thought
Ok, this can get spooky. But if a self-help hypnosis-expert copywriter like Joe Vitale can get completely bowled over by this phenomenon, you might be interested…
Joe found this “urban legend” floating around where a doctor started curing criminally insane in a prison hospital ward – without ever interviewing a single one of them, and proceeded to empty out that same ward (and do himself out of a job.) Vitale traced this down to a Dr. Hew Len and worked and worked to finally get permission to write a book about what he had found and the doctor’s technique.
Based on an ancient Hawaiian healing technique called Ho’oponopono, Dr. Len’s modern version consists of four simple phrases – but can blow fixed conditions in your environment with ease. Elsewhere on this site, I’ve gone into much more detail about this.
The point is that here is another inexpensive book, CD set, and DVD set which can tell you how to regain your native “OT” abilities.
Of course, there’s more: Burt Goldman, while widely panned for his “Quantum Jumping” is actually only talking about skills he learned in teaching the Silva UltraMind Course. While he gives credit to Jose Silva, he’s put a different slant on this by telling you how you can contact your mirror-universe “doppelganger” to get the inside information on what you should be doing to achieve or acquire whatever it is you want.
Goldman first told about this in his “MindBox” series, where he gives you 44 different “mind tricks” to influence or correct various situations in the world around you – from healing, to intuition, and inspired answers to tough problems. Of course, when I read this, I was reminded of all those wild “OT phenomenon” stories I’d read about in the old “Advance!” magazines.
The difference was that this time, it was clearly laid out how to do these for yourself – and not having to go through years of processing and thousands of dollars to learn how.
Summary: How and Where to Get “OT Abilities” outside of Scientology
The trick to all of these is that there is no trick. Each of the authors who have produced this material clearly state that anyone can learn to do this – that this training only allows the native abilities you were born with to show up as every day talents.
And while this is all very exciting stuff, I’d recommend a gradient approach. Not all of this material will work for every person out there. Some will work better for a few. There is no “typical results” in any of this.
1. Get Joe Vitale’s “Zero Limits” and study these up. Do some regular Ho’oponopono for yourself. Start changing your world.
2. Get Silva Ultra Mind or Remote Viewing and Influencing Course to start visiting places you’ve always wanted to, while leaving your body at home. (If you’d prefer to attend a live seminar, here’s a list of certified Silva instructors.)
3. Try out Quantum Jumping and see what you can do with all the answers to every potential life-problem.
And of course, you can always try Levenson’s Release Technique, which will make all these new abilities permanent.
Don’t spend thousands, but get all the fantastic abilities you’ve always wanted. And yes, unlike corporate Scientology, it’s all sold on a money-back guarantee if you can’t get the results you want…

(Or just skip it and keep going to those fancy events several times a year. But you realize you’ve just been reading some real squirrel material and now have a PTS connection to run out…)
Cheers!

Now, there are “logical” ways to proceed with this, but those are just as fallacious.
In your spiritual training, you are going to have to simply trust yourself – as you are who is putting up all these problems, successes, abundances, and perceived lacks.
Nothing is real and everything is. Your choices.
For me, it’s really gone back to studying the early works. Most all of the recent material misses the boat – unless it’s based on the oldest material we have. And you’ll see this in “Go Thunk Yourself” studies and research.
Initially, I was recovering from the corporate cult of Scientology, which had taken the fairly convoluted teachings of Hubbard and made them into some sort of control scheme. So my own studies went to prove or disprove the whole subject of self-help – to study the premise that if self-help worked, it would be based on a natural system. And that was found. But I studied dead authors to find it, as observation showed people with charismatic personalities would have followings, but these dissipated after their death (as is happening with Scientology.)
I cross-checked these findings with modern authors, finding only Covey and his “7 habits” book made the cut at that time, as he had studied over 200 years of self-help published material in the US as part of some graduate studies. So we were studying the same materials.
In and through these studies, I found a number of additional paths. One of these was Huna. Through Max Freedom Long and Serge Kahili King, I was able to find the very workable system which apparently has been in place since before our written history. Long’s breakthrough was that this philosophy was embedded in their very language.
What has always appealed to me was it’s practical use. Having been raised on a farm and trained as an engineer, I’ve always appreciated the acid test of “Does It Work?” So when I ran into the Huna Principle, “Effectiveness is the Measure of Truth”, I found a datum I could use in philosophy.
(Which then becomes Philo – “appreciation for”, and Sophos – “things that work.”)
This am, I woke from my last dreams with a rather light-hearted look at life. Because it was a completely different world than what I am used to. Names were similar, but the surroundings were different. What was same was that the same basic laws and principles people use to run their lives were the same. Humankind is humankind, regardless of location, race, sex, background, education.
And once you know the rules, no “real world” reality has much effect on you. You are Cause in every situation you run into – because you are ready and willing to take responsibility for everything you come across.
This post starts to bring a new line of study.
I’m done with self-help, personal development, etc. These are all limited studies and only take you so far. Most of them are devoted (utterly and completely, in most cases) to helping people get “stuff” into their lives and feel better about the world they are living in.
But above these belief-systems, there is the spiritual. Jose Silva found this out as he developed his Silva UltraMind series. He’d been helping people re-program themselves for years when he ran into the next level above. And discovered that the power of that level was more potent than anything he had been dealing with. Of course, it just built onto the technique-foundation he had already laid.
What I was listening to yesterday was Higgins and LaTourette’s Remote Viewing and Influencing series. While I perked up on the third lecture, it was the 10th lecture which started putting the whole thing together, “Silva Principles for Abundance.” Silva had long told that there were three principles at work here: Desire, Belief, and Expectancy. So I was interested in how Remote Viewing and Influencing would approach this.
They took this back to Silva’s 5 laws of programming:
1. You must do to others only what you like others to do to you.
2. The solution must make the planet a better place to live.
3. It must be the best for everybody concerned.
4. It must help at least two or more persons.
5. It must be within the possibility area.
You can see the Golden Rule through all of this, and the key principle below Huna and most major religions (as well as Google and other major corporations): “Do No Harm, Do Much Good.”
And then I saw that a lot of these little spiritual “mind tricks” had been translated into self-help gimmicks to sell books, CD’s, DVD’s, and seminars. (And you probably know by now all the work I put into discovering how scams and Internet Marketing work.)
It is the crossovers which are fascinating to me – where two completely different studies show similar approaches and workable results in both. There is a crossover with Huna and Silva. Both tell you that your dreaming state (delta wave-length in Silva, “ho’ike na ka po” in Huna, which will bring you messages of what to do, how to be, what lessons you need to know.
Silva’s technique is the “Three Scene Video”, where you send off a video to “higher intelligence” and go to sleep on it (where delta brainwaves primarily occur). Huna requires a prayer to the “amakua”, or even better to use the “garden meditation” technique to get responses – such as leaving a package or envelope with your request in it, then returning to see what response is – or looking carefully for synchronistic coincidences in your life to give you clues. Silva also held to this point of looking for coincidences.
A point to cover here before I sign off of this post:
King holds that there are four types of useful analysis:
Objective (what is out there and happening – such as measuring and comparing),
Subjective (how do you feel about things),
Symbolic (what does what just happened actually mean), and
Holistic (how does it all fit together).
King says the Huna shaman (kapua) would use all four to work out the message they were receiving.
And we’ll leave it at that for now. There is a great deal to cover here. Our story is just at the beginning…
