Nothing in this universe tends to exist without controversy. Because apparently, we all like to turn things over and over in our minds. And it gives us something to talk about.

Joe Vitale uncovered a very fascinating character named Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len who had further distilled a version of Hawaiian healing called Ho’oponopono from a kahuna healer named Morrnah Simeona, who in turn had adapted the more traditional healing tradition to modern applications and usage. Of course, that was also controversial. People disagreed with her including modern terms in it.

Dr. Len trained under Simeona and then further simplified this.  He works to get this data across through world-wide seminars every year. And when you visit the Institute of I’s site, you can get quite a few articles and PDF downloads to tell you about how he does it.

Vitale wrote a popular book on this, as well as hosting several seminars which he recorded and also sells (as well as a line of cleaning products, and wearing apparel…) Since I am a bit resistant to marketers in general and Internet Marketers specifically, I then went to work this over with what I could find on the Internet. And of course, I found the various disagreements and snarky comments, as well as enough data to make a conclusion.

Now, separately, I’m writing a post – my last on self-help techniques – which will tell how this works and how to align it with Levenson releasing techniques and other materials I’ve already covered/uncovered. This page is to simply let you know where most of these resources are.

At the bottom is Joe’s hype on the DVD he sells. And they are undoubtedly worth every money-back-guaranteed penny you might spend.

Joe first had a dinner with a select group of invited friends (which grew to about 80). Laurie Kristensen was nice enough to blog about this and link to the actual recordings of this dinner. On that site, she has also posted many articles about Dr. Len and how this works, as well as numerous interviews with Vitale from 2007.

The far biggest collection of material on this, including video links, is at Miracles and Inspiration. You can stay on this page for hours, if you really want.

A key reference is this PDF by Joe Vitale, which gives his initial impression about this area. Now for the controversy, Dr. Vince Wingo (who was personally selected by Max Freedom Long to carry on running Huna Associates in Missouri) takes some issues with some of this.

But Dr. Wingo also offers a free Ho’oponopono manual as a download he will send to you via email. Just visit http://hooponopono.net/. As well he has a DVD based on videos taken of Morrna Simeona giving demonstration of her version of these healing practices. Very educational and rare.

Just got this book published over on Lulu.com – at my Go Thunk Yourself Self Help bookstore.

In these days of politicians arguing over health care, it’s refreshing to read about a philosophy over 30,000 years old which could do healing on serious illnesses, cure broken bones, and even bring the dead back to life – all as nearly commonplace miracles-as-usual. Max Freedom Long started studying this ancient “psycho-religious” belief-system back in 1917 and authored these two books just after WWII – once he had the breakthrough of figuring out how they did it…

So now you have in your hands a “missing link” to understanding the universe and all its workings. Bottom up or top down.
