Boy, that was a mouthful. Good thing I don’t have my titles that long all the time – Twitter would ban my updates for sure (or people would think I never finish anything…)

OK, the reason I got inspired to write this was exactly what was in my in-box – another endorsement (read: affliliate link) for someone I hadn’t heard of before and how many glowing testimonials with some incredible, don’t-pass-now offer reduced for a limited time

Like I’d never seen these before.

Actually, I don’t know if it’s just me, but I’ve been opting out of way more mailing lists than I join now days. Usually right after the first worthless offer.

Because these guys are in the same ego trap as their customers – and you can tell in the way they are writing.

You have to ask yourself – what’s all this money for? Sure, having good health is a near necessity – but are you trying to be perfectly healthy all the time, or would minor aches and pains every now and then (like sore from playing a long game of tennis, or being tired after tromping around in the woods all day keeping up with grand children – would those be acceptable?)

Charles Haanel held that money was only a symbol, and that chasing a symbol would cause it all to disappear. Money only stands for what you did to get it. Earl Nightingale said at least once that money only says how much value you’ve been giving others.

Figure that people who only are telling people how to get all the money they want, all the success they can stand – these people are caught up in the same trap.

They’re all symbol-chasing. Why? So the people around you will think better of you?

When you don’t have to take any medicine, and all your bills are paid for months at a time, then what?

And when you get along with the people you like and the other ones mostly leave you alone, then what relationships are you still needing to improve?

The question you want to ask yourself is: “What happens when I get there?”

Why you own your own personal health, abundance, and health. http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/look-no-farther-than-yourself-for-illness-and-poverty-look-to-others-for-your-abundance-and-health/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/look-no-farther-than-yourself-for-illness-and-poverty-look-to-others-for-your-abundance-and-health/#comments Tue, 25 May 2010 11:40:58 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=793 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want?

The simplicity of any human-type ill condition is working to keep the illusion of separateness in place. Just look around at any who are really having a “rough” time of it, and you’ll see that they are holding thoughts in place that they alone have this problems, they they have enemies working against them.

But that’s just the fictional load they are carrying.

Look for those who are successful, healthy, happy – and you’ll find they are actively working with others toward a common goal, helping others probably even more than they help themselves.

You’ll find this to be true no matter where you look – because it’s the way this universe is set up. The way we all set it up.

The funny thing is that you almost need to get away from people and go into seclusion in order to shake off these bad mental habits you’ve been keeping for so long which merely hold you back and limit you.

Because our popular culture is constantly reinforcing all those things which simply keep people separate. Look at the “news” and you’ll see all these reports about how bad things are, strife, warfare, violence – all stories about where people are being individual, separate, self-destructive.

Politics and government is just that exactly – group pitted against group. Failed promises to be “bi-partisan” (which itself is composed of two words which mean separateness.)

And you have to look to individuals to get anything done – but these successful individuals do nothing without working with others all the time. They are outstanding only as they are connected really to the Universal and are letting their own light shine through, because they have gotten rid of limits which keep them an individual.

Now, I’m not going to prove any of this to you. You’ll have to do some study of this on your own and prove it to yourself. That’s the only way it works. Follow Sedona Method, Haanel’s books, Napoleon Hill’s Law of Success, Wattle’s “Science of Getting Rich” or even older stuff like Thomas Troward or any of the books about Huna.

Or just sit in a field and meditate in some relaxed pose on what I’ve covered above.

Get Everything You Want by Seeking Perfection First http://robertworstell.com/spiritual-training/inner-outer-perfection/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/spiritual-training/inner-outer-perfection/#comments Thu, 20 May 2010 17:42:27 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2816 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want? OK, this is a bit backward – for good reason.

The simplicity of spiritual training is to look for things unseen, to seek for stuff which can’t easily be sensed.

Huh?

Look – have you seen a spirit? OK, it’s more common than you think. Ever shook hands with one? That’s a lot rarer.

But the bottom line to any success in this universe (if you want to call it that) is simply seeking perfection in everything around you and all that you do. Even if it doesn’t exist. And you have to start with your own mind.

Wallace Wattles was the first I’ve read to really put this across:

“And he must do, every day, all that can be done that day, taking care to do each act in a successful manner.”

personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want? But you’ll also find it in the authors he studied, like Thomas Troward, or in contemporaries such as Charles Haanel.

One of my favorites down this line is Christian Larson (“The Ideal Made Real”) where he examined the old Hermetic Principle that the Law of Attraction was based on – Correspondence. “As within, so without.”

Meaning that as you get peace internally, you’ll find a peaceful world around you. As you recognize the basic abundance you already possess (and no one can take away from you), then you’ll see that world around you then start giving you things in abundance. And of course, it never hurts to use the Golden Rule and start helping other people find their own abundance regardless of how much you have showing up. And give this away in advance, completely open-handedly.

Of course, all this can be tracked right back to the Huna,

“The world is what you think it is.”

and

“Energy flows where attention goes.”

The spiritual technique I’d like to share today is very, very simple (as usual.)

  1. personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want? When you see something non-optimum, apply Ho’oponopono (see Vitale’s Zero Limits) to immediately take responsibility for it as part of your universe.
  2. Then get the vision back in front of you for the most perfect ideal you could imagine – make this real and also release this to the Universe to take care of.
  3. If you get some “noise” coming in, then release that by tracing back the negative/non-optimum feeling that showed up right down to the basic desire and let all that go. Keep this up until your normal state of calm returns.
  4. Then again get that vision out, dust it off, and send it off to Higher Intelligence to take care of.

What this does is to get perfection showing up around you. And while it’s true that Zen says everything around you is already perfect (such as Alan Watts), you are responsible to make the world the way you want it. Not that you are getting into having to change it, but you can get into the game of how beautiful and nice it can be.

We are just making our internal world perfect, and so the outer world will follow suit.

How to get everything you really want out of life – easier than you thought… http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/life-easier-thought/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/life-easier-thought/#comments Sun, 25 Apr 2010 10:20:38 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=953 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want? The trick is that everything you really want is already present…

Of course, this has gone through several incarnations, and may still change. But I think I’ve finally gotten down to a basic line of application and theory which has undercut everything I’ve studied up to this point.

And I reserve the right to revise this without notice.

One of my first attempts at this came from a book I compiled, called “Mystic Marketing” – which does work where applied. Essentially, it has you hone your ability to concentrate on what you want and deliver this to the Universe to manifest. (And it still may very well be the handbook which will take that title above.)

But Lester Levenson tended to pitch the whole subject of “getting stuff” into a cocked hat with his tapes and books. However, if you’re familiar with “The Secret”, you’ll recognize that many teachers recognize the first statement above is true. And to get anything else to show up around you, there just has to be a change in your considerations.

Of course, Levenson’s Sedona Method releasing technique is the prime way to accomplish changing your thoughts and calming the mind. Just acknowledge and accept what’s there and let it go. Follow that by reviewing what it is that you want and release on both having to have it and not having it. As well as being separate from it, or having to be one with it.

Sure, that’s all a mouthful. You could also just simply have it show up by just releasing all the time. Whatever “it” is.

But all the classics, Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Napoleon Hill – even the real classic authors such as Genevieve Behrend and her mentor Thomas Troward. All of these simply point out that whatever you really want is already there – the Universe is in a constant state of delivering exactly what you’ve asked for.

In fact, they all also say or support the fact that this Universe is only thought – and that all the mechanics we go through simply justify the thought. All the “scientific” studies are just ways to rationalize the miracles-as-usual which surround us. And all this scientific explanation machinery is foundering on quantum physics – where they found out that what you think predisposes the outcome of the experiment…

Our modern approach to this is to recognize that we perhaps haven’t asked for exactly what we want, but have asked for something else. “The Secret” has several teachers saying to rephrase anything with a negative in it – which has been known to NLP practitionars, but is actually an ancient datum: the mind doesn’t recognize a negative. So when you say you don’t want something in your life, it shows up in spades. Don’t = do not = do. Don’t want = do want.

Of course, our thoughts are often jumbled, because of the bad mental habits we’ve been keeping. And the Sedona Method allows us to release ourselves from the effects of these perpetual thought circles which have been keeping us suppressed.

And so the mind quiets. Then you can figure out what you really want out of life – and it begins to show up.

Until then, it’s much like walking around the living room with the lights turned off. You know roughly where the furniture is, but not exactly – and your shins take a beating until you finally find the light switch.

Now, the ability to concentrate on what you want isn’t actually something taught in our government schools. And to a great extent, we train ourselves out of this by watching TV and popular movies. We tend to deaden our mind, to turn control of it over to others. Which is why advertising found on these are so inane and stupid. Psychologists Maslow and Cialdini worked this over quite well that our motivations are what we’ve been trained by our culture to accept.

This just brings my continuing advice to the fore – that you have to turn off the TV, radio, and put aside the national newspapers in order to start improving your life. (The Internet is OK, providing you use it in strict moderation.) All of the above just keep your mind excited and reinforce the bad mental habits you’ve been carrying around with you all this time.

You are going to have to release these mental habits before you can make any real progress in getting what you really want.

OK, so have I beat this horse quite to death now?

Look – check out the Sedona Method (I have a review page above full of links for this) and see if this might not just help you with whatever it is that you are trying so desperately to attain, attract, achieve, or simply have show up in your life.

Then come back here and comment on what you’ve found. OK?

An Apology for My Dreams and Yours http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/apology-for-dreams/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/apology-for-dreams/#comments Wed, 21 Apr 2010 07:39:08 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=2556 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want? You see, this universe we live in is exactly backwards from what we have been taught and have accepted as true. I, as you, have been pushing down this line, hoping for better answers as we go along.

And as I’ve covered at various points, both Levenson and Huna hold that the world around us is a dream, an illusion, “Maya”.

Anyone can start running into this as they start to work the top end of goals. While “having a nice car” or “having a loving relationship” are all very nice – you also have to recognize that you have also put “not having” as a goal much earlier than this and agreed to it as more powerful than anything else.  Or you wouldn’t have to now work at getting something to show up.

OK, back up: Levenson (and other ancient mystics and Masters) held that the being (meaning: “you” and “I”) creates the world around them. This is, of course, the first principle in Huna – and covered in Napoleon Hill, Earl Nightingale, Charles Haanel, and a host of New Thought Authors. (“We become what we think about.”)

Now, when you start working on goals, a lot of people (such as the example in Wattle’s “Think and Grow Rich”) work on getting material things to show up. This is also the basis of “The Secret” DVD, where people are being told how to “attract” things into their lives.

But the kicker is in the question, “Who is doing this attracting?” You then find out that the person is responsible for the Universe around them, that they put their own lack there first in order to solve it.

True.

Think it through for yourself.

It is not “you” and “the Universe”. Haanel’s whole “Master Key System” was a treatise on how you get up to the point that you figure out you put the whole thing there. Even Scientology’s “secret end phenomenon’s” all deal with this one point: taking complete responsibility for having “mocked up” or created the exact problem you are dealing with.

And Canfield as well as Levenson (and Hubbard) make a point that you have to take responsibility for what you are doing and have done in order to do something about it.

Or, you can simply release the goal you created originally which was contrary to it, plus the desire below it.

This now explains why Levenson pointed out to get beyond having to have “stuff” and simply get your Freedom instead. Otherwise all manner of dire catastrophes ensue.

Why is this? You wreck your own game. What’s the point of having everything you could possibly want – if you have worked all this long time to make sure you didn’t have it to begin with?

All philosophies (not necessarily the religions based on them) contend that you are an infinite being in your own right. “There are no limits.” as Huna covers.

But that same statement says we are all connected. And this explains the world around us as we see it. It appears to be composed of multiple versions of reality, all mushed together for our own group amusement. It is the game we are playing.

And you can cease playing this game at any point. The trick is to make sure that you don’t have to keep playing any game at all – or you’ll simply put the whole thing back again. And so the problem that many of the rich had – where they would go bankrupt over and over and over – only to just regain their fortune each time.

But you have to know that the fiction of Money is just another game. So is the fiction of Government.

All around you, every single little and big thing – is all Maya – Illusion.

And you get rid of small parts of it by doing Goals Releasing. Literally, you sit on your Butt and release the reasons you don’t have something and then it shows up. This is Stephen Seretan’s KISS (Keep It Simple, Sweetheart) method he got directly from Levenson.

This stuff is too easy. Let’s lay it out:

1. Use Silva Method to “go to Level” and meditate at Alpha or Theta (or Delta, if you can). Get this as a constant “on” condition – practice staying at this state during your whole day and night.

2. Release everything that shows up, taking these down to basic and sub-basic desires. After you’ve been releasing constantly for awhile and get fairly imperturbable, give yourself some big goals, such as: “I allow myself access to Infinite Intelligence.” or “I allow myself Infinite Beingness.” All this does is set the stage for some massive realizations about how this universe around you works – and how you put it there to begin with.

3. Keep on going “all the way out” and don’t let up for any reason. Want your Freedom more than you want this Maya around you. You want to move from Mystic (initiate) to Adept (master) – which is only a single release away. (Which explains how Alan Watts quotes an artist who said that the attainment of real Zen [an ultimate satori state] could take some people lifetimes and others just minutes. See the Wikipedia article on Mysticism to see what’s possible here.)

And there is no 4. Because once you get to that point, you really do see that you are only attracting your own lack – that there is nothing “out there” except what you put there, or not.

This is why Jack Canfield, Burt Goldman, T. Harv Eker – all these guru’s and coaches are so very amusing. Because while they are all helping you improve your success, they don’t take it all the way out. They keep telling you how to “pimp your ride”, or telling you how to drive more safely, or evade the cops – instead of letting you in on the secret of teleporting.

(That secret, by the way, is the same as telepathy: distance, all Space and Time, are fictions. We are all already intimately connected in the Now. Release on that.)

While there are “many paths up the mountain,” you’ll also quickly see that there never was a mountain to begin with.

But you knew that.

An intuitional life – doing what you should have been at all along… http://robertworstell.com/lifestyle-choice/intuitional-life/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/lifestyle-choice/intuitional-life/#comments Mon, 19 Apr 2010 04:50:05 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=751
Geese actually do a great job mowing...

Geese actually do a great job mowing...

Came to me while mowing the lawn and watching/listening to/experiencing my thoughts rattle around. Not so much a unique experience for anyone familiar with Levensons’ Sedona Method. (I mean being distanced from your own thoughts – not mowing. I’d rather geese do my mowing almost any day.)

In my life I’ve been very busy following all sorts of leads which put all sorts of stuff in front of what I really should be doing.

I should have been listening to my intuition the whole time.

Intuitional living isn’t an easy thing to move over to. It’s not like you just ask the driver to stop at the next corner so you can get off. It’s a transformational thing.

At this point, I know these key points:

  • You have to learn to listen.
  • It requires working constantly for the most optimal solution around you.
  • It means working in abundance in everything you do and more often open-handed giving.

There may be other key points (they’ll come to me if I need to tell you), but let’s go over these individually. While books have been written on each one (and I’ll reference those I know of as we go) you don’t have to get these books to understand and start applying these right now to your own life.

1. You have to learn to listen.

This is listening within as well as without. Most of the time we are so busy thinking that we are tripping over our own thoughts constantly. Our minds run away with our lives.

Several authors, such as Charles Haanel (in his “Master Key System”) said to seek the Silence. His 24-lesson course the book was based on had you practicing sitting still for some time every day and simply learning to control what you were thinking. Others call for meditation as a way to discipline the mind. My favorite is Lester Levenson, who simply said to release the thoughts and feelings which welled up – this quieted the mind and eventually removed its “thinking” influence entirely.

The point is like someone who is talking all the time and doesn’t let a word in edge-wise. Until that person learns to be quiet and listen to others, they can’t learn anything. While Levenson and others tell how a person develops that problem, it’s easier to simply “let go” of that impulse than to figure it out (which involves more thinking, doesn’t it?)

So intuitional thinking requires simply sitting down in a comfortable spot where you won’t be disturbed – several times a day if possible, but at least once daily – and learn to be still and just listen. Don’t contribute to anything that comes in, just allow it and then let it go. Eventually, with practice, you can sit for 5 – 10 – 15 minutes or more and just listen to the world around you. This skill starts to carry forward with you in life and you’ll find yourself taking in and enjoying more life around you.

Until you listen, you won’t be able to have the inspirational, motivational, and intuitional thoughts arrive (they actually are arriving all the time, but we have to get all this noise out of the way in order to begin to see them.)

2. You need to work constantly for the most optimal solution around you.

Now, “work” might not be the best term – it only seems like that at first. Later it becomes fun, a game. But you are changing some life-long mental habits at the outset. So start looking for better solutions, the best possible solution to everything you encounter. Just see if you can’t work out how to live more abundantly and install this abundance in everything you do.

All your situations should result not just in win-win, but in win-win-win. Everyone involved wins from the solution you help evolve – and they then take that to help others live abundantly as well. You really need to not just pay it back, but pay it forward, and then pay it forward in advance.  Wallace Wattles covered this in his classic, “Science of Getting Rich”. He laid out a whole chapter devoted to the idea of doing always more than you are asked to do, taking care with each detail to create the most professional product you can.

3. Work in abundance  – start giving open-handedly.

In nature, there really is no competition. That is a humankind-invented view of things. The oldest writings and teachings on this planet confirm just one thing – we are all connected, there are no limits. Sure, there are the apparency of limits and restrictions, but you’ll find that they are arbitrary and imposed, not occurring naturally.

Look at the things in life which are giving you the most problems – taxes, government, political parties, mass media – these things don’t exist except for us “highly evolved” humanoid-type peoples. And if you look at more “primitive” peoples who don’t have health care, insurance, lawyers – the same sun still lights up their day with warmth and causes things to grow for them. They still enjoy their family, they eat and live with much less stress than we face in our “modern” world. A recent article about some of the oldest-living people found this village where they still went out into the fields every day and harvested their own food, even into their hundreds of years living on this planet.

Competition is only a limiting apparency. Creative action and resolution is unlimited.

And I could really go on and on about open-handed giving – it’s where commerce started out and where online marketing is going again. People don’t want to be consumers, they want to be part of the experience and community that any given product represents.  Online vendors know that they have to give away tons of really valuable stuff before anyone will invest their own hard-earned income with them. It’s a matter of trust. But that trust is built best through open-handed value-giving, not tons of “promotional give-aways” (although the two are related.)

- – - -

None of these concepts are new – even Intuitional Living isn’t a new concept. Emerson talked about it in his own way, as did his student, Thoreau. Even Shakespeare touches on it here and there.

It’s just come the time now, in our Internet information age, that we can move anyone who wants to right on up this line and out. Because Intuitional Living is just the next logical step, but it isn’t the final one (if there is one). It’s the next thing after having everything you need and want in life, being whatever you want to be, doing, achieving, acquiring all that you ever really wanted. You’ll get all that on your road to Intuitional Living. All of it. And you’ll find that once you do, you don’t really have to have all that. (Like owning a candy store – you find that you don’t want to eat candy all the time, but are really interested how to improve others diets so they can enjoy candy as a treat – not an have-to-have.)

Try some Intuitional Living for yourself. Just those three simple steps. See how you can work on each one a little bit each day – and see if your world and the worlds of others around you don’t improve just to the degree you work on these. It really only helps improve things. And as you give to others, you will receive. So this is an invitation to immensely improve your life forever.

Don’t take my word for it, don’t believe what I say here. Try it for yourself and see if it’s true for you.

They are simply holding onto too much garbage in their lives.

It really goes back to the Golden Rule: You have to give before you can get.

Meaning you have to quit resisting stuff and simply “pay it forward in advance”.

I’ve often covered Lester Levenson and his release technique here. This is a very simple and effective way of letting things go which are in your way.

More practically, what is stopping you is your own thoughts. Earl Nightingale (in his “Strangest Secret”) referred to Napoleon Hill’s quote: “We become what we think about.”

But it was Levenson who found how to “turn off” all that thinking. In “The Secret”, you were told that it’s estimated we think an outrageous number of thoughts daily. And many, many people say that we can’t control our own mind.

Just a little study in this area disproves this. Napoleon Hill and Charles Haanel both gave techniques in their books which would do this. Nightingale had another in that recording.

But people have problems with this – particularly positive thinking – because all these negatives are in their way. And those negatives are constantly generated out of bad mental habits you’ve spent a lifetime putting there. The good news, is that all these “bad” or negative thoughts aren’t native.

So moving over to positive and constructive is simply an action of recognizing and letting go the bad ones so that the good ones will shine through. Almost too easy.

Just learn the Levenson release techniques and you’ll be on your way to attracting what you really want and as well, all the positive thinking you want to do will start working for real.

Quit rejecting and start living!

Just release.

I may have a different idea about things like churches and religion than most, I imagine.

It came to me this morning that I probably never laid these out.

A “church” by definition is a group. Mostly of people with a common belief-system, usually religious or spiritual at least. It’s really nothing to do with any building. It should be helping you find Freedom, Happiness, and Peace of Mind. And if you aren’t getting these, you’ve got a right to look elsewhere. Not just the promise of them, but the actual life-qualities themselves.

Now the problem with religions in general is that mostly they’ve forgotten where they came from and are more pomp and circumstance than the original salvation they were intended to be.  Most have gone straight off the road into getting into peoples’ actual way when they are trying to find their own road out. Because they are part and parcel of keeping them in the dark – because they get more money, or support, or power, or what-have-you.

Of course, I’m saying “most” so you have an out with your own church. But if it fits you, then wear it.

My idea on these is a bit loose. You’re here for some reason you set out for yourself. And if you really want to achieve it, you will. But if you just want to mess around and take forever, then you’ll do that, too. Because you can only get what you want, not what someone else wants. That’s the way this place is set up. No one else can “make” you do anything. If you’re a victim, it’s your own damned fault.

The trick is wising up. That’s the whole reason I wrote all the “Go Thunk Yourself” series, re-published their referenced works, and also my latest, “Get Your Self Scam Free.” Because you deserve it.

Now, I’ve been having a hole in my line-up as regards Huna. But I just found that a couple of Max Freedom Long’s classics had fallen into the public domain. And interestingly, they actually tie a lot of what Napoleon Hill, Charles Haanel, and Thomas Troward were talking about. And also earlier authors such as Emile Coue. ( Of course if you like Long, you’ll also like Claude Bristol’s “Magic of Believing.”) So you’ve got a fair bit of study to do if you’re going down this line.

But my idea is that churches are support groups. It doesn’t particularly matter which one you belong to, as long as they don’t make you swallow that silly notion that they are the one and only way of redemption/salvation/enlightenment. That’s where they went off the cliff a long time ago. And became a spiritual dead-end.

But check out this stuff from Long about religions (while I’m busy editing this book into shape). I figure that there used to be a great deal of “magic” available to the early churches – only theymay have called them “miracles”. Levenson and Alan Watts cover this a great deal – both that this is something that gets easier as you get more spiritual and less worldly, and also that it’s nothing to pay attention to particularly as it can quickly become some sort of occult sideshow.

Here’s Max Freedom Long:

All we can take with us at the time of death is knowledge, and it should be the first duty of each of us to accumulate the correct “take-withable” knowledge by a careful study of the psycho-religions and the discarding of beliefs which cannot be substantiated.

It should be held in mind that no two inspired or revealed religions agree, and that teachings obtained from the departed through mediums show a similar disagreement. There may be one correct revealed religion and one correct teaching from a spirit or a spirit group, or there may be a partial truth in all such sources of information.

At present we have before us only one basic and practical criterion by which to measure such material, and that is Huna. I say this, because Huna work[s].

(from THE SECRET SCIENCE BEHIND MIRACLES)

The “Secret,” or body of information handed down from one magician to another, was what may be called applied psychology for the most part. The element of religion was very small, especially if we accept the technical definitions of religion in the best modern sense.

Dr. Paul Tillich, Professor of Philosophical Theology at Union Theological Seminary writes, “Magic is a special kind of interrelation between finite powers; religion is the human relation to the infinite power and value.… Magic is the exercise of imminent power, religion is the subjection to the transcendent power.”

All religions are mixed with magic. Prayer is magic. Everything we do to gain benefits for ourselves in this life or the next is a part of magic. Magic is getting something from supernormal sources. Religion is worship of a Supreme Being and an acceptance of whatever It gives us, whether pleasant or unpleasant.

(from SELF-SUGGESTION AND THE NEW HUNA THEORY OF MESMERISM AND HYPNOSIS)

Last words on self-help http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/last-words-self-help-books/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/sedona-method/last-words-self-help-books/#comments Sat, 06 Feb 2010 00:25:26 +0000 Robert Worstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=1601 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want?

After over half a century on this planet, I’ve come back to the point of realizing that you can only chase your tail so long. Ultimately, you see the senselessness of it. (Now if we could just get that across to our government cronies, both elected and appointed…)

That snark aside, there are a few basics I’ve settled on as basic to everything else.

You may have noticed that I’ve been working over Alan Watts’ lectures and books recently. Right after I’d been working over Levenson’s, Dwoskin’s, and Crane’s material on the Sedona releasing techniques. And that was all after boiling down Dale Carnegie, Napoleon Hill, Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Earl Nightingale, plus Serge Kahili King (and now, back to Max Freedom Long – soon to be released as a newly re-published edition on http://gothunkyourself.com).

As I’ve privately admitted, I have little else to say in this area. It’s all over, done, kaput, finished.

But was I actually done with the subject of self-help after all this time I spent in Scientology, Christianity, and all of the above? Yes and No. What remains is application. It’s easy to know about Zen, and some like Watts found it a life’s purpose in studying everything they could in order to lecture and write endlessly about it. But there is a wide gulf of application that remains. Putting all this stuff to use.

It’s not enough to know and write. It’s also necessary to do. Walk your talk and all that.

Now, I am going to tell you right now that I don’t believe in all this stuff I’ve been writing. And, as I cover in my upcoming “Freedom Is – (period)” – your own mileage may vary. Your own path “up and out” of the morass you put yourself in will require different digging and climbing tools than the person climbing next to you.

For me, I have essentially two points:

1. The world around you is as you create it: “You become what you think about.” “The world is what you think it is.” This simply means that the world is your dream to make into reality. And this key point actually creates the rest. If you are here in this space, reading this, you are an individual. Quite different from whether you forward the concepts of the Tao and Levenson, who both hold that you are part of a greater Being and this world is more the sliver stuck in a thumb than actually surrounding you and affecting you.

Of course, this takes some practice to get used to. But you can start with realizing that there isn’t really anything but the “Now” and both past and future are constantly shifting depending on your current creative thoughts. At the extreme end of this, all the physical laws around you only work to the exact degree that you believe in them and hold that faith. Which of course explain all the miracles and magic which we occasionally confront.

2. Empirically, the Golden Rule works and applies to everyone. Again, the Huna, “We are all connected.” So that what you do for or against someone else is what you do for and against your self. Being critical of someone is a useless action. So your own progress, toward whatever goal you might have, is dependent on helping others achieve whatever goals they themselves would seek.

Of course, that means you have to allow others to have the right to think their own thoughts. And create their own lives. Or even destroy them. Doesn’t mean you can’t try to help them live it better – but about 3% are going to work hard at doing themselves in regardless, just the way this place is set up (empirically, anyway.) The “poor will always be with us” – because that is their choice. No amount of Welfare or education or charity will cure it.

I also consider that the rest of the basic 7 Huna principles hold true, as they are workable – to me at least. As long as I believe in them, they’ll keep working and explaining stuff I come across. But you can take them or leave them – your choice.

There are various corollaries which follow – that all the Freedom, Happiness, and Peace you could possibly want are already available. That the only limits you experience are your own. “All Power comes from within.”

So I don’t see that there is a great deal of writing still needed in this area. I have a couple more books to get out (Long’s work, “Freedom Is – “, and finishing up “Get Your Self Scam Free”). After that, I have lots of cartooning to draw and cross-reference in my blogging. Making fun of all the seriousness around us would seem to be a valuable commodity to have. As far as commodities are valuable at all…

But your life is your own. And what you consider how you can live life best is also only up to you. Like me.

I’ve found a deep and lasting peace. Now we can really start to have some fun.

Like Forrest Gump, “…and that’s all I have to say about that.”

All about the Robert Worstell scam… exposed! http://robertworstell.com/scam/robert-worstell-scam-exposed/#utm_source=feed&utm_medium=feed&utm_campaign=feed http://robertworstell.com/scam/robert-worstell-scam-exposed/#comments Sat, 03 Oct 2009 05:38:13 +0000 robertworstell http://robertworstell.com/?p=885 personal development What next after you get all the wealth, happiness, health, and general success you want?

Is Robert Worstell a scam?

Sure I am.

Fully 97% of what I say here is useless to you. And I can admit this with complete certainty that it is true.

Because it’s based on the scientific certainty of all those graduate and post-graduate studies cover on human behavior, commonly described as a “Bell Curve.”

Their descriptive mathematical profundity says that out of all the stuff you study, you reject around 97% of all that you read or listen to or experience – because it doesn’t meet your own belief-system, your own world-view.

You are only going to use about 3% of anything I bring up here.

Of course that’s true for every single thing you study, every single website. So I’m really a scammer now – I’m saying that everyone else out there is running a scam also.

Well — they are, you know. Down deep, you do know.

The other thing that makes me a scam is that I only deal in Metaphysics and all that la-de-dah stuff which you have to believe first in order to make it happen. I’ve even got degrees in this stuff – no, they aren’t from any Ivy-covered, Alumni-sponsored, Good Old Boy Academia. But I paid my dues to study all this stuff, wrote my papers and theses and so on. I can quote all this Metaphysical stuff by the yard.

Of course, there’s no “real science” to it. Sure, it’s been proved that a lot of this actually heals people, actually will help people achieve their goals, actually makes people feel better one-for-one — provided that they actually have faith in the books and writers and material that I present here.

But the super-science boys are all against this type of stuff. But they’ve reached a dead-end. It actually happened years ago – when they went beyond the smallest possible particle they could study. None of all the various “laws” and “rules” they had established for how the Universe operates – none of that seemed to work dependably at quantum levels.

Turns out they found the scientific equivalent of God down there. And several of them returned to ancient spiritual texts to actually start making sense out of it all.

And that heady stuff is where I started – and what you’ll find here.

So all that I cover is simply and easily attacked as a scam.

Welcome to being scammed – and feeling good about it.

I offer a complete line of all those “get anything and everything you want in life” books over at Lulu.com, where you’ll find all the authors like Wallace Wattles, Charles Haanel, Earl Nightingale, Napoleon Hill, Dale Carnegie, – tons of all those “feel good” authors who made a living from inspirational and motivational books.

All scammers and quacks. Well, at least if you listen to the hard-boiled skeptics.

But you can live a better life – and the people who buy these books know that. They aren’t deterred because people around them are skeptical, critical, and generally negative. And they can generate faith at the drop of a hat.

The reason came up because I ran across a professional skeptic – who trusts things so little he won’t even use his real name online. And when I pointed out that being critical all the time would wind up with very few true friends (well, only those who didn’t mind being criticized right, left, and center.) He thought I “doth protest too much”. And my considered opinion was that he “doth skepticize too much.”

Different strokes for different folks.

So, join me in my scams. We can have some fun and maybe find personal freedom and happiness beyond anything anyone of his science boys has dug up.

Good Hunting!
