It all started when some plug-ins I was using in order to make WordPress actually do SEO – these conflicted and set up some sort of loop which was crashing the server. So they very nearly kicked me off.

Then I said, hey – all this stuff about Burt Goldman and his Quantum Jumping product is fine, but it’s not my main line of work. Let me see if I can just move this over to another wordpress host and redirect the traffic there.

Now it worked fine the first day – but by the second, wordpress.com had put in some sort of cancelling script which redirected everything to the front page. A simple work around was to take my most popular Burt Goldman scam post and put it up as the front page.

But the damage was done. My traffic went to nothing, since Google also then figured that these links weren’t worth anything and so I quit getting but maybe a fifth of my daily traffic before.

By the third day, I simply cancelled the re-direct and sent traffic back to my original site.

Nice failed experiment.

At the core of it was the problem that internal links in wordpress are not relative. They are exact. So all my internal links went back to robertworstell.com and so were redirected to the same page on wordpress.com – which put an interesting load on wordpress’s servers and probably looked like some sort of spammer routine.

Bottom line: WordPress is good for newbies, but sucks at SEO, so don’t use it professionally.

Here’s the line-up to get a non-scam set-up:

1. Get a custom-made CMS for your main backend. Don’t use anyone else’s “site builder” – they all suck. In order to make them user-friendly, they have compromises built in.
2. Use separate, remote blogs to drive traffic to your main site. Keep your main site as static as possible, only tweaking the landing pages to improve sales. Update your main site with a Press Release at least once a month.
3. Backlinks are best done in :
   - articles
   - comments
   - videos
   - scribd.com – type doc storage sites
   - archive.org podcasts
   - press releases

You don’t have to go out and get some Internet Marketing Training in order to learn how to do this. If you simply invest the same amount of dedicated time you’d spend with their (failed) site-builders in order to create your online business, you will get the same data without that expense.

What these “online marketing coaches’” really do is use you as their income stream as long as you can keep up your credit card payments.

What you really want to do is to not sign up for services, but rather just buy a finite product which you can return if you don’t like it – Like Burt Goldman’s Quantum Jumping or his Mind Box product.

Although I am too tempted to pile all the massive “bonuses” I have downloaded on my machine into CD’s and then offer them for cheap on the Internet – just so people can see how stupid this stuff really is.

Of course, they’d also get a copy of my “Online Sunshine Plan” and also “Get Your Self Scam Free” in order to weed out the nonsense from what actually works.

But as I’m still learning what does and doesn’t work myself – I thought to give you a heads up.

I mentioned that as far as I knew, the abilities a person worked to achieve with their original “OT” levels were all possible with materials available outside that corporation, all researched and developed independently.

Of course, I then got curious what I had been looking for to begin with.

What are “OT phenomenon” and abilities?

First, what is an “Operating Thetan” (“OT”)? This is essentially, by current definitions, ” a being operating at Cause”. But earlier editions of this definition placed the emphasis on a person being able to “exteriorize” at will and operate as a separate entity, not depending on needing a physical body. And then being able to influence things out in the environment, including telepathy, remote viewing, remote healing, etc.

I dug out my Internet copies of the OT levels to see what I had gone through before they made “NOTs” the Big Thing. Sure enough, here were all the points about being able to operate exterior and getting other people to start, stop, and change speed or direction. There was also mention of being able to be in any place on this planet or universe, totally at will. And creating any emotion at any time within your body. Finally, the last original OT Level dealt with increasing one’s ability to project communication into other people and life forms at a distance.

However, all these levels no longer exist in the official corporate line-up. So you can’t get there from here within Scientology.

And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, corporate-Scientology won’t be releasing any later levels after OT VIII, because they don’t know how.

Additional research (for those “old-hand” Scientologists viewing) pointed up a Class XII, Pierre Ethier, who  was pretty highly trained in these original levels as well as all the modern releases. I was interested in his description of how the OT releases were bollixed up – and so moving all these people who were looking to the much advertised “operating exterior” drills had been replaced by expensive “negative gain” processes (where you are not getting improved abilities directly, but instead are simply getting rid of stuff which is “holding you back.”)

His conclusion was that the current corporate structure wasn’t interested in allowing people to get up to the level of reading minds at a distance, or being able to perceive others’ intentions, remote viewing of various meetings which were occurring, etc. In other words, there would be no way to keep anything secret, and you could no longer be the adverse effect of anyone telling you anything. So you’d instantly see the truth behind what they were saying, and they’d lose control over you and your money.

According to Ethier, all those NOTs levels were supposed to go between original OT VI and original OT VII, and

“OT VIII was originally written up in 1969. Around 1983, LRH wrote the final piece of that Rundown, a final step intended to polish up and stabilize the results.”

But what was released was only that last polish-up step.

Does this mean we are just completely out of luck – if that’s what we got into Scientology to learn how to do? Not necessarily.

But you’ve been able to do all of this for years, regardless

Now there was a lot of work done in remote viewing back in the 70’s and early 80’s as part of the Cold War. Both sides were using remote viewers to spy out each other’s stuff. And the work in our government paralleled Hubbard’s own research (see “Church of Spiritual Technology: IRS Approved” for the timeline.) Their reader-contributed data points to government/U.N. employees (Hal Putoff and Ingo Swann) enrolling in Scientology, getting up through OT VII and learning remote viewing.

Interestingly, Eastern disciplines (as well as the Polynesian “Huna” belief-system) have been able to do this for centuries. It’s just never been a set series of steps of study and practice.

The wraps on this come off in the late 1990’s when Jose Silva is working with theta brain-waves (ironically named) and discovers a way to allow people to re-develop their native psychic skills. Perfecting this training and calling it “Silva UltraMind”, this series of lectures are available from various publishers such as Nightingale-Conant. Also available is a set by Dennis Higgins and John LaTourette on “Remote Viewing and Remote Influencing”, which takes the Silva discoveries a step further.

Per the materials, you can be doing your own remote viewing within minutes – and able to do this on your own without even needing to play a CD within a week. LaTourette gives a fascinating description of what’s possible, as well as various tests this type of material have been put through at http://silvaremoteviewing.com. The great part is that you don’t have to spend 100’s of thousands and several years of your life to learn this. You could simply get the books and/or CD’s today and begin practicing your native “OT” abilities this week!

Creating Effects on Your Environment Through Thought

Ok, this can get spooky. But if a self-help hypnosis-expert copywriter like Joe Vitale can get completely bowled over by this phenomenon, you might be interested…

Joe found this “urban legend” floating around where a doctor started curing criminally insane in a prison hospital ward – without ever interviewing a single one of them, and proceeded to empty out that same ward (and do himself out of a job.) Vitale traced this down to a Dr. Hew Len and worked and worked to finally get permission to write a book about what he had found and the doctor’s technique.

Based on an ancient Hawaiian healing technique called Ho’oponopono, Dr. Len’s modern version consists of four simple phrases – but can blow fixed conditions in your environment with ease.  Elsewhere on this site, I’ve gone into much more detail about this.

The point is that here is another inexpensive book, CD set, and DVD set which can tell you how to regain your native “OT” abilities.

Of course, there’s more: Burt Goldman, while widely panned for his “Quantum Jumping” is actually only talking about skills he learned in teaching the Silva UltraMind Course. While he gives credit to Jose Silva, he’s put a different slant on this by telling you how you can contact your mirror-universe “doppelganger” to get the inside information on what you should be doing to achieve or acquire whatever it is you want.

Goldman first told about this in his “MindBox” series, where he gives you 44 different “mind tricks” to influence or correct various situations in the world around you – from healing, to intuition, and inspired answers to tough problems. Of course, when I read this, I was reminded of all those wild “OT phenomenon” stories I’d read about in the old “Advance!” magazines.

The difference was that this time, it was clearly laid out how to do these for yourself – and not having to go through years of processing and thousands of dollars to learn how.

Summary: How and Where to Get “OT Abilities” outside of Scientology

The trick to all of these is that there is no trick. Each of the authors who have produced this material clearly state that anyone can learn to do this – that this training only allows the native abilities you were born with to show up as every day talents.

And while this is all very exciting stuff, I’d recommend a gradient approach. Not all of this material will work for every person out there. Some will work better for a few. There is no “typical results” in any of this.

1. Get Joe Vitale’s “Zero Limits” and study these up. Do some regular Ho’oponopono for yourself. Start changing your world.

2. Get Silva Ultra Mind or Remote Viewing and Influencing Course to start visiting places you’ve always wanted to,  while leaving your body at home. (If you’d prefer to attend a live seminar, here’s a list of certified Silva instructors.)

3. Try out Quantum Jumping and see what you can do with all the answers to every potential life-problem.

And of course, you can always try Levenson’s Release Technique, which will make all these new abilities permanent.

And then, when I did some reviews of his material, as this got me curious, my Google traffic spiked. So you can’t win for losing.

The trick is that I’m not following the rules of what to blog about with keywords – and I could care less. Burt Goldman’s marketers are pushing his stuff and so the more he is promoted, the more people look for him on Google to see what else they can find.

But I write about metaphysics, which no one is looking for. Spiritual products which aren’t brand name aren’t easily found. Or looked for.

I have my solution however. Wouldn’t call it revenge, as that’s too negative. But I know how all these things fit together.

The Mystic Path to Illumination using Silva-Levenson-Goldman techniques

1. Learn the Silva Method to quickly “go to level” and achieve a high meditative state. The best version of this I’ve found to date is from Nightingale-Conant, by Robert Stone and Laura Silva. Here’s a glitsy link:

2. Learn Levenson’s release technique so you can quickly release all the negative emotions which you’ve accumulated and are just holding you back. Larry Crane has a good package of materials, which contains material on achieving Goals and a lot of other stuff:

You use these by simply getting into a high meditative state with the Silva Method, and then releasing your negative emotions toward whatever you are trying to attract into your life, or any physical problem around you. Silva also has several solutions to all of these.

The reason I say to use these in that sequence is that the self-programming you can do with Silva will be more effective if you get counter-programming out of the way first – by releasing.  However, Levenson releasing is better accomplished when in an alpha-wave meditative state, which Silva empowers. So I suggest Silva, then Levenson releasing, and only do the affirmations/re-programming when you’ve released everything you can find.

Between the two, you have an incredible supply of tools to use. Both give substantial techniques to deal with anything you’d like to improve in your life.

3. I’ve recently studied Burt Goldman’s MindBox materials and found these to be another set of useful tools. He bases his stuff on Silva, so again, you are working to reprogram yourself on top of the other material which caused the problem to begin with. Releasing solves this.

Now, the real interesting thing is that when you get to the top of the heap with this stuff, you won’t actually have to use any of it, since you will be in such good shape that whatever you consider will appear around you. And you’ll be able to heal things around you and at a distance, do clairvoyance/telepathy, and have all the income you could want. Not to mention great relationships.

Because the spiritual world is all around you. These tools simply allow you to tap into your own existing powers by re-educating and re-training yourself as you simply let go of all the mis-training you’ve had so far.

Again, there are no guarantees that you won’t consider these to just be scams. You get out what you put in and there are no FTC “typical results.”

Burt Goldman

Now, if you know his background, you’ll see how he comes by all these fantastic (by definition, unbelievable) mental tricks and procedures.

If you go to his blog (blog.theamericanmonk.com), you can get a rather over-hyped “Quantum Jumping Special Report.” And in this, a small section gives his bio:

My name is Burt Goldman. I’m one of those lucky people who discovered a secret early in life. I spent 50 years cultivating my knowledge and travelled all over the world to teach others the secrets to life. Today, I’ve settled in California and will spend the next few minutes sharing a few important lessons with you.

When I was just nineteen, I was with the American Occupation Forces in Korea. I had a Korean American buddy who told me of a mystic he had met while he was wandering around the outskirts of Seoul. I got to meet that mystic. In that small home of Mr. Kwan Jung, whose name I later learned meant strong and righteous, I heard things I’d never thought of before. I learned about Qi, or energy, and Li, the control of this energy.

In other words, this guy is a Seeker. One who is constantly learning new material and procedures. This is his “river of interest” as Earl Nightingale talks about. And we are the lucky recipients.

Now the trick to this is that it only works to the exact degree you put intention into it. Skeptics and doubters will always get scammed. People who are able to have an open mind about new material and try them to see how they work will probably find something useful.

If you’ve already tried Quantum Jumping, then you will probably want to get his MindBox materials – where QJ is just one technique out of 44 in that set. (And if I had a direct link, I’d give it to you – for now, you have to sign up for some sort of mailing list at theamericanmonk.com).

Practically, as he’s gone over recently his recent videos, “Quantum Jumping” is no new thing, but he’s put a great new marketing approach to it which gets people to try it. Napoleon Hill had a version of it with his “Invisible Counselors” (see Chapter 14 of “Think and Grow Rich”). Jose Silva had another version of it with his “Mental Laboratory” in his Silva Method and Silva Ultramind Course. The Hawaiian Kahunas had their “Magic Garden” technique. All of these involved connection to another spiritual guide in a dream-like trance (or an “alpha level” meditation in Silva). And if you really want to read up on some fascinating stuff, check out the “Magic of Believing” by Claude M. Bristol…

Also of interest is that Lester Levenson studied Yogananda and quotes him extensively. I hold that a combination of Silva Method and Levenson is the fastest way to direct results. And then using Goldman’s “mind tricks” at that point should make them even more effective. But results will vary (as mileage) and only practice makes perfect.

And while Goldman’s material is available on the Internet, you probably want the nice boxed sets you can get from finerminds.com – as well as Laura Silva’s products and others.

Sure, there was grief. However, the more interesting part was that I used what Burt said as far as reaching out to the spiritual universe to see what I could find out. (Out of Goldman’s “Mind Box” series.)

And there was my dog, jumping and running around, as playful as ever. Not concerned that it just passed on after being run over. Happy.

When I kept checking, different methods, same result. Well, mostly.

After awhile, she’d come to me like she always would – out of nowhere and jump up to lick my face all over. Just happy, happy. Pure, unconditional Love.

But I learned from this.

It all boiled down to the same points:

Feelings are created – on top of personal, native joy that is already there.

Bad feelings, good feelings, all feelings are created.

Even exhilaration – just another feeling which is all additive to the moment.

Let’s review from Levenson’s release technique:

• All thoughts are based on feelings.
• All feelings are based on desires.
• All desires are created to play the game of the Individual.

But the game of the Individual is a lie – in order to have a game. It is, however, seemingly the most valuable game of all. Once you are over having to play that game, then you can really start to make progress.

The trick to this Universe, to Living itself, is that there is no Other. There is only Being which runs through all of our individual Self’s that we keep created.

A continuing bottom line which I keep running up against is that this One runs through everyone and everything. It’s always on. But exists in no future or past. Only in the Now.

Today’s post only adds to an earlier one. Death is more than a fiction. It’s a complete and utter fiction.

People, pets, plants – all life doesn’t “die”. It’s just another version of life that goes on.

Life is only a dream, and Death is just another extreme on that scale. “Moderation in all things” says that any and all people and life-forms (as well as non-life forms) are somewhere and nowhere at the same moment.

That moment is not the result of your thoughts, though it could be. It’s not the result of your feelings, although some hold it to be so. And desires can never be satiated or fulfilled. Love is what creates the world around us, at the base. Beingness is beyond, before, inside, and outside of Love.

The real point is to Be. And only Be. Everything else, other than the Now, is a fiction – a complete mock-up.

The Now is always there. And you are always in the Now, as are all those around you and connected to you. You are, as always, connected to everyone and everything. But there is no future, no past, no disconnection – only the Now, the moment.

And within that is the answer to “What am I?” and “Who am I?”

Once you figure this out for your Self, then you have it.

Of course, this never needed to be written – because you already knew it.

I have a very minor bone to pick on his treatment of “Enlightenment” (see Wikipedia article on Mysticism for definitions).  Burt makes the comment in his book and on tape that people will make better progress if they quit eating meat. I’ve heard a similar concept from Levenson, that if you love your pets, why would you eat them?

Unfortunately, to my knowledge, neither Burt nor Lester spent any amount of time on an actual farm.

Nature eats each other to continue evolving. And plants very much feel pain as any other being does. If you want to spiritually ask a boulder what they think of things, you will find that there is even a form of pain for them as water freezes and thaws during extreme cold.

Meat animals have their purpose, as do row crops or wild plants. A tree that lives 5 centuries or more has as much value as an insect which lives only a few months, or a bird that survives only a couple of years. Cows live 14 years or 20, and would rather go out under relatively painless conditions than endure a long, sickly condition.

The Amerindian would pray with the spirit of the animal to help it move into it’s next world or existence. And the best tribes would seek to use the most of that animal they could. Just as conscientious farmers will compost the unusable parts of an on-farm butchered animal.

Life and death are not separate. They are, as the Hermetic principles Goldman espouses, just two extremes of a scale of positions. Some people are more alive than others. As are some animals, plants, and so on.

But practically, Death is simply a fiction. And Enlightenment a way to quit playing the game of Individual.

People who live only in cities can believe what they want. And live how they want. Just don’t tell me what I need to do or not do unless they’ve been here and seen/done what I have. (And keep that radical vegan HSUS CEO far, far away, please…)

When you really practice and achieve oneness, you’ll see that the Huna concept of this life being just a dream (as Levenson also mentions), having a particular body type or form is irrelevant. Just as what you eat or how you act to get to a higher state is really irrelevant. There is the tradition, per Alan Watts, of Zen Masters returning to their earlier profession after they achieved satori. One was a homeless bum, another a prostitute.

Humankind bodies were designed to be omnivores, which aids in speeding evolution, since that body can live on a wider variety of material around. Same with how our stomach can digest an extreme variety of material. And some studies show we can actually transmute elements in our digestive system.What we are doing needing a humanoid (or any) body is more to the question.

Real enlightenment takes you right beyond any need for a consideration of what you are eating, why, or even when. Reports exist of yogi’s living on only air, or even being in suspended animation for years and centuries.

The idea is to make this particular round of living your last – simply because you won’t need to pick up a body of any type after this. Because your beingness expands into everything around you. You just are – everything.

And that is the highest form of living. You see perfection in everything around you and some have said that they just see themselves looking back.

So, smile at everyone. And enjoy all the life you can. That’s one route to enlightenment.

Burt Goldman

Napoleon Hill‘s credit and legacy is in writing one of the all-time best selling self-help guides ever published.

What do these two have in common?

Burt is about to release (or already has, depending on when you read this) the secret to Napoleon Hill’s “Boardroom of Advisors”

You’ll find this in his Chapter 14 of “Think and Grow Rich” – “The Sixth Sense”.

Now Hill carefully doesn’t spring this on his readers until this chapter so that he could build up their understanding in order to accept it. And he had used it for decades before he mentioned it in this book. Hill didn’t even bring it up in his 16-volume “Law of Success”.

And Burt understood this enough himself to not spring it on people until he could do it himself and also teach others how to do it. Burt is a teacher. And he tests carefully before he promotes his new material (although some of the people marketing his stuff might have different ideas…)

Let me tell you how this stuff really works.

And then you can compare how Burt teaches to do it.

Hill had these simple points:

• Understanding the existence of Infinite Intelligence throughout the universe.
• Knowing that this force can be induced to transmute Desires into material form.
• Faith (personal, not religious) in these principles and yourself enable it to work.
• “My experience has taught me that the next best thing to being truly great,
  is to emulate the great, by feeling and action, as nearly as possible.“

With those personal rock-solid data under his belt, Hill then committed himself to meeting with a boardroom full of Invisible Counselors every evening.

Every night, over a long period of years, I held an imaginary Council meeting with this group whom I called my “Invisible Counselors.”

The procedure was this. Just before going to sleep at night, I would shut my eyes, and see, in my imagination, this group of men seated with me around my Council Table. Here I had not only an opportunity to sit among those whom I considered to be great, but I actually dominated the group, by serving as the Chairman.

I had a very DEFINITE PURPOSE in indulging my imagination through these nightly meetings. My purpose was to rebuild my own character so it would represent a composite of the characters of my imaginary counselors. Realizing, as I did, early in life, that I had to overcome the handicap of birth in an environment of ignorance and superstition, I deliberately assigned myself the task of voluntary rebirth through the method here described.

After years of use and subsequent study of the phenomenal changes this method had produced in his life, Hill figured out what was actually going on:

These facts are mentioned preliminary to a statement of fact which I shall now make, namely, that during my meetings with the “Invisible Counselors” I find my mind most receptive to ideas, thoughts, and knowledge which reach me through the sixth sense. I can truthfully say that I owe entirely to my “Invisible Counselors” full credit for such ideas, facts, or knowledge as I received through “inspiration.”

Burt’s earlier products are the clue

Now, if you’ve studied Burt Goldman’s MindBox, you’ll see immediately how Hill was able to achieve these results.

Burt’s techniques are based on his long-standing association with Silva Method of Laredo Texas. He uses the Silva Method in nearly every technique he has – as a method of enabling people to quickly get to a high meditative state where they can access the Universal Mind or Infinite Intelligence directly.

His “Quantum Jumping” is based on his same point – and was originally discussed in his “Mind Box” release.

Frankly, this goes back to older Huna philosophies, among others, where a person would have a Magic Garden to resolve difficulties. This isn’t particularly new to anyone studying New Thought authors, either.

Burt introduced the idea of a doppelganger in an “alternate universe”, which is a similar imaginary situation. Jose Silva had this concept as well.

So the technique you can use, is to simply look up the Silva method and do this on your own.

I’ve done exactly that, and used these “Invisible Counselors” from time to time. And gotten incredible insights from it. May even do it tonight…

Your own mileage may vary – there are no “typical results” – since metaphysics depends on two things:

1. You get out what you put into it. Expect a scam and you have one.
2. The intention you put behind a technique will determine it’s results. Even real Quantum Physicists agree on that.

So I’ll give you the link to Burt’s release about Hill’s “Invisible Counselors” again.

Burt mentioned the “7 Laws” almost as an after thought, with reference to “Hermetic teachings.” Curious, with the Internet always on, I checked this out and found it to be an old, public domain book, which I already had in my own files.

The interest here is that this has everything to do with Marketing as it is practiced , and will open up new ideas for you as you study it.

I am not going to delve into this in detail, just mention a few illustrations. (And unfortunately, this is running to nearly a couple of thousand words, which is horrible blog etiquette – so you might want to print off this page and save it for reading with your favorite beverage while relaxed on an easy chair or couch…)

I. Principle of Mentalism

This is not a new concept, but it perhaps didn’t even start with Hermes Trimestigus (or Thoth). It’s found in the Huna teachings, which Max Freedom Long said were even older than Egyptian.

The idea, while stated as “All is MIND” are easily explained to be, as Earl Nightingale, “We become what we think about.” He attributed that idea to Napoleon Hill. In Huna it is, “The world is what you think it is.”

Here you see Ryes and Trout’s “Positioning” concept. By inviting your viewers to think about your product in a certain way, you also invite them to create that item in their world. The more they create it, the greater possibility for it to exist, i.e., they will buy it or some version of it sooner or later.

(On the Internet, they may download it first and then later get an actual CD. If you are prepared, you will make low-cost downloads of individual MP3’s available as part of your initial promotion.)

II. The Principle of Correspondence

Goldman is fond of repeating this one, “As above, so below; as below, so above.”

An easy application is that when you plan a marketing campaign for the long-tail niche, it has the same elements as one you would plan for a large “big-head” campaign (taking over one of the few bestseller spots in the NYT or B&N or Amazon, for instance.)

So you would test-market your new product in a small area and carefully analyze each part of it for effectiveness in converting customers to clients, leads to sales, viewers to buyers.

Internally, you will also pick your best execs and project managers in this way. As they treat their immediate staffers, so will they treat their accounts.

You’ll also see in this the Golden Rule and also the Law of Attraction.

III. The Principle of Vibration

Essentially, everything has vibration, motion, movement. Nothing stays at rest.

This is obvious on any marketing plan – you have to “re-charge” it at intervals with new material. And with social media, you can see how some items “go viral” while others are ignored. Everything has a pattern of motion it follows (or introduces).

Copywriting is in this league. Study the greats such as Shakespeare and people who followed him such as Louis L’Amour. You’ll see that while they have scene shifts and cliff-hangers, the story is moved along with a certain pace – ever quickening, dragging the unsuspecting audience along. Star Wars and other hits are of this type. “Boring” films (compare John Wayne’s hits with his “B” movie duds) don’t keep a regular, quickening cadence. Music is another element in this. John Williams’ scores were key to the Star Wars’ series success – as is the continuing use of a common theme in all the Star Trek ensemble of  movies and TV series.

Your copy-writing can be staccato, such as the famous VW ads (“Ugly.” “Still Ugly.”) or they can run on for a solid text of pages like the Robert Collier ads.

There is a vibration to all promotion. When these are sympathetic to the vibration of the viewer (or listener), you have increased want and sales.

IV. The Principle of Polarity

The universe isn’t simply hot or cold, but a wide variation of temperatures in between. Every extreme has its opposite, but is actually a description of a working scale of every position in between.

There is no Perfect or Good ad. Some are very bad. And your best promotion is not one which is the glossiest or academically perfect. The old “Clio’s” were a study in this. Like the Academy Awards, it was some sort of inbred purity at work with the judges. Their track record was that every PR agency which won a Clio was out of business the next year. Because they were works of art which didn’t sell products.

Huna has this principle, “Effectiveness is the measure of truth.” So it is definitely with promotion and advertising. Consider the independent movie, “Blair Witch Project”. On a per-dollar expense in marketing and production, this was an outrageous success. But the film, “Rocky Horror Picture Show” has attained a cult status and substantial returning revenues to small independent movie houses which show it to midnight viewings on a regular basis. “Deep Throat”, for all it’s porn, was a promotional success.

All these were not high-dollar epics. And you’ll see many other independent and low-budget entrees which never make their costs back. While on the other hand, there have been huge investments by major studios which never returned costs.

Box office popularity is perhaps the best measure of quality – what are the sales. But then often a “flop” by major studio standards will set the stage for a later success, achieving name recognition that can be later parlayed into a profitable production.

Of course, your released campaigns fit into this, as you develop a series of spots which keep a regular appearance in front of your potential viewers. This of course combines several of the above principles.

V. The Principle of Rhythm

Now you can appreciate the pluses and minuses of rhythm to promotion and advertising. Everything swings and cycles between extremes. Our two last presidents are of this mold. Both extremists and polarizing.

This is not a common use in marketing, as it is apparently not well known. The Star Trek franchise has been worked to be a regular presence in front of it’s viewers. So it is working from the “is there, isn’t there” type of polarity. (And one of its most famous original shows had a comment on racism, where two surviving people off a planet were constantly trying to kill off the other – one was black on the right, white on the left; the other reversed. Both considered the other their enemy just because they were differently colored.)

Some savvy Internet marketers have realized the natural phenomenon and licensed affiliate sales people to take up the negative positions to their positive spiel. Like this site, where I can find people coming to find all about “Burt Goldman scam” when I don’t consider or write about that being a fact. (And, with any luck, I’ll be approved for affiliate sales of his products shortly…) The more they promote Burt, the more people come to my site to find out if (or how) it’s an actual scam.

Polarity and Rhythm. Don’t be stingy with affiliate accounts – set them lose to pick up all the reverse-polarity marketing campaigns you can’t do yourself.

And you’ll also see rhythm show up in the copyrighting on a blog – as well a longer ad campaign with several short releases (again, see the VW campaign by example.)

VI. The Principle of Cause and Effect

“Every Cause has its Effect; every Effect has its Cause; everything happens according to Law…”

Most of marketing has the consumer as the unwilling/willing effect to the Marketer’s Cause. Arrogant marketers are reminded of this fact (as well as arrogant politicians) when the customer quits buying their products (or votes for the opposition.) More common on television (especially cable) where people vote with their remotes.

Most people (around 95-97%) simply go with the flow around them, and this is what Marketing is based on – appeal to the subconscious mind which runs their lives with routine. This is the factory worker, the warehouse operator, the sales associate on the sales floor, the cubicle denizen in white-collar jobs, the government-job “worker”, the union member. Their bosses call the shots, and are often just another cog themselves.

Independent entrepreneurs and company founders are those who remain at Cause most of the time. These are the Doers, not those who are stuck on the receiving end, hoping that their pensions and “social security” will still be there when they retire.

Marketers market, consumers consume.

VII. The Principle of Gender

Having nothing to do with sex, the action of giving (Male) and receiving (Female) are necessary to every marketing approach. While the marketer gives in order to receive, the customer receives in order to give.

A key use of this is where successful marketers give value before the person is asked to buy anything. Because they give something away, the potential customer wants to reciprocate. This is one indicator of a scammer, since they will give something of very cheap value and then hit up for something very pricey (also of dubious value). Traditionally-accepted marketing practice is always to give away something fairly valuable, but always also give a final value in excess of whatever someone pays. This then turns one-time consumers into returning clients, as they “always get a good deal.”

This is also the point of turning your clients into Affiliate sales points. Receivers now turn into Givers. They can say that they honestly got a good deal when they contact other people they know – and are rewarded with a small stipend for the referral.

“One-shot wonders” in the music industry violate this right, left, and center.

So this overlong treatise is just a shallow over view of what can be gained by studying the Mystic classics. The term “mystic” has the meaning of both initiate (learner) and also teacher.

It is expected that as you master your own studies of life and living, you’ll “pay it forward in advance” to help others. The reasoning behind this is found in the 7 principles above.

And the interplay and interaction you’ll find as you go along this line can be fascinating in the extreme.

Now to begin with, my blog was simply an ordinary one – talking about my life experiences as I was pitching my self help books – Go Thunk Yourself stuff. As I was also studying marketing (publishers don’t market, authors do), I got in with some very interesting Internet Marketing coaching guys and exposed them as scams over a year or so. And somewhere in the middle of it, I found out exactly how scammers work and why. It’s all written up in my “Get Your Self Scam Free”, which is under that link and also a free online course to get scams out of your life.

Meanwhile, I was continuing my research, looking for anything on Christ Consciousness (even though I had already republished Bucke’s “Cosmic Consciousness”) – when I found Finer Minds and Burt Goldman’s Quantum Jumping – and blogged about it.

How the scam links started

Then I started getting traffic from Google for “quantum jumping scam”. Only because I had been blogging for the year before about a scam I had fallen into – and then made a single post about Quantum Jumping. Just as an experiment, I created a blog post which said, essentially, that anything can be considered a scam. And posted a presentation on this on Slideshare and Scribd. Then I followed this up a couple weeks later with another post saying essentially the same thing, that people who fall victim to these are the “Get Rich Quick addicts”. And meanwhile Google had pushed me up their ranks for “Burt Goldman Scam” and “Quantum Jumping Scam” so now I get regular traffic which can’t really be turned into any sort of sales. There is simply no affiliate sales program for this.

From an SEO point, this is just an interesting nuisance. Now Google has me “above the fold” for more than half a dozen related pages. So I get a fair amount of regular traffic which goes nowhere. I have links back to their site and to my own books (like “Get Your Self Scam Free”) but it’s not worth my time to take all these pages down – so I just watch them. I did have a conversation with their marketing people after they emailed me. And carefully explained that this was a natural outgrowth of Google search, that if I took my pages down, Google would simply elevate some others there. At least I didn’t really think Goldman’s stuff was a scam.

And I told him that other clients of theirs, like Silva Life Products, don’t have that problem – simply because they have been running affiliate programs for years. The affiliates have taken these top areas and route people back into sales. You can convert any Google keyword: “[product] scam” into actual recurring sales if you employ affiliates to do so.

So I keep these pages up partially out of good will toward these people I’ve never physically met, and partially out of curiosity. (And no one has made it worth my while to invest the time I’d need to take these down.)

Don’t worry – most of the stuff out there is scammy

It’s still my considered opinion that the bulk (97%) of all Internet Marketing is bunk and BS. But I can say this as I’ve been scammed and put all my metaphysical training to work uncovering why people get scammed to begin with. And when you read these sites like Burt’s – you’ll see that someone is hyping up what they are really delivering just so you are going to buy it.  If you take the scam-free checklist and apply it to any of these self-help sites (or anyone trying to sell something to a popular audience) and you’ll see the repeating pattern of sales pages. There are a handful of regular points which are used in Marketing to entice you to buy their goods. And until you get Scam Free, you are going to continue to fall for it over and over and over.

Those people who cry “I wuz scammed!” just don’t know how scammy they are themselves. I mean, if you keep doing the same things over and over, yet expect different results each time, you are scamming yourself.

I’ve helped people (with no personal gain in it at all) to get their money back from scammers – and those days are long over. One point I found interesting is that they each had to completely change their outlook on themselves and how they approach life. Once they “got over being scammed”, only then could they logically and methodically get out from under that scene they had created. A real learning experience for all concerned. While I don’t work with refunds at all anymore – I wrote the basics of scamming all up in a small book so people can quit getting themselves scammed.
